I got the Currie tie rod and drag link. Two of the fittings are in a position that makes the impossible to get the gun into to fill with grease.

I went to the auto parts store and bought metric and standard grease zerks and the metric seem to fit. I think the standard are just a little bit too large.

Am I correct in thinking that the metric work?

I put the metric in and tried to fill them, but the grease does not seem to be going in. Sometimes it just squirts out from around the connection between the zerk and the gun, sometimes I pump the grease gun like a mother and it does not seem to be doing anything.

I am stumped.

Found my fix. The little rubber boots that hold the grease have a bleeder valve type thing on the site that looks like a rubber nipple. What I did was use the end of an old grease gun and stick a valve used for airing up basketballs on the end. I attached it with electrical tape, which worked really well, but is not going to last long.

so, when I was done I cleaned up the pieces really well and gutted the end of the grease gun that I took off. I shoved a piece of paper inside to help hold the valve in place and currently have jb-weld working on holding it in place. It should not leak, it should be strong, and if I have to grease the parts on the steering which are fricken impossible to get to, I can just go in through the little overflow part.

Tomorrow, 9 am at Belvoir Auto Shop. We are already installing my old steering setup on 05's jeep. We can knock out the fan clutch also.
