Holiday Plan Help [Archive] - Military Jeepers

Since I am new here to the Springs I am hoping that the members can weigh in on up coming 4 day vacation.

Req: want to be able to run the jeep and atvs; close to fishing; within 100 miles of the springs; don't want to go where everyone else is (i.e rampart range road)

Help me out with ideas so I can start floating the ideas to the family.

try woodland park i go camping up there but i dont fish. if you have a license you may be able to fish at farish but i dont know the rules on that place

Rainbow falls just north of woodland park is nice.

Rainbow Falls is nice, they even have camp grounds in the area.

I usually camp out in San Isabel National Forest on the bank of Clear Creek. From there, I can head north to Leadville or south to Buena Vista. Great Jeeping, great fishing and the area is surrounded by the tallest mountains in Colorado. It's almost exactly 100 miles from the Springs.

Well I think I am going to try Tarryall for the weekend. I hear that it gets busy but it sounds like a good base camp for the entire area. Who knows how it will turn out!!!
