While I don't have a Heep... err Jeep... anymore, I'm an active poster over at Beltway Jeepers and I have owned jeeps in the past.

No longer active military, but I enlisted in the Marines in 1996 and ended my active enlistment in 2000 and went right to work for the government after then. No longer work for the government, but still stay in constant contact with many of my old Marine buddies.

I'm now driving a 1989 Chevy K5. It's in a bit of repair at the moment, but will be capable again VERY soon! Plans are:

Built SBC 350: vortec heads, edelbrock TBI pro-performer RPM intake manifold, RV cam with valve springs, 82mm throttle body, headers, roller rockers, etc... Should be good for close to 350hp, well over 400tq.

NV4500 tranny with NP205 adaptor, twin sticked... NP203 doubler attached so actually triple sticked. Already have the tcase and doubler assembled. Need adaptor to mate it to tranny and install the whole works.

D44 front, 5:13 gears, chromalloy shafts, yukon gears, ARB, trussed and warn premium outers

14ff rear, detroit locker and disc brakes

That's the meat of it.

Exterior is getting built up in the next month with an interior roll cage, custom dash replaced with all autometer gauges, dual battery setup, soft top and 5pt harness seats.

I have about 95% of the gear to complete the build, just need to assemble the rest of it. New engine will be going in within the next 3wks along with the rest of the drivetrain. Interior will be completed shortly after that.

My drive date is July 1st. That's the date I want it ready to hit the road again. The engine is about 60% built (bottom end done, top end needs assembled), tranny, tcase and doubler ready to drop in once that is done.

Anyways, if you guys don't mind a beat up old chevy out on the trails with ya, I'll be there soon as it's ready!
