This is our chance to help out! There is a trail clean up the very same date that we will be wheeling there!!!! I say we spend a good amount of time on sat to help out and get the trails cleaned up! heres a link. Post up if you agree!!!! Im gonna help out sat W/ the clean up and wheel w/ yall sunday if no-one else whants too! I feel its an oblagation. I wheel there and need to help keep our trails open!:D

Is there a cleanup scheduled for saturday or is this just something since we are there? I don't mind helping, but would be in no position to haul tires and stuff since we will be pretty loaded with gear.

Well, after reading the original post, I guess I should be a little more detailed with my reply. I am more than willing to help clean up the trails, but thought it may have been a spur of the moment "hey, there's trash lets grab it and take it out of here" while we are wheeling sort of thing.

My time in the DC area is coming to a close and I will be at ANCOC and then another duty station immediately following. I am not sure if I will have a chance to get out on the trails before I leave the NOVA area, so I am taking every opportunity to use my wheeling time wisely. If I am on the ride on saturday or sunday, I am more than willing to pick up trash and take it out of the trails, but I don't intend to spend all saturday doing only trail clean up. It is a good idea for those that want to help, but I have been looking forward to this trip for a while, well before it was actually posted and when we were just talking about having it.

I know others here are leaving the NOVA area also and I am not sure if they will be able to get out and hit the local trails before leaving, so this will probably be the final run to GWNF for some of us. :beer:

I'm gonna shoot it straight here buddy. I don't think I'm gonna be up for this. If we planned something out in advance or had more warning, I'd be all over it. As it is, however, we have plans already set. I think trail cleanups are awesome, and perhaps we should set one up. Then we don't have to worry about making sure our families come and we can pack lightly and people could brings trucks and stuff. We've been jaw jacking about this trip for a long time, and since we set it up, it's all that's been on my mind. As it sits, I'm looking to wheel for two days and camp Saturday night.

Im going to go off and pout someware , Also looking forward to 2 days wheeling and camping. did the trash pick up this winter with nova had a good time but have been planning on this trip and looking forward to it for some time maybe if we plan a trash pick up for the near future more could make it

Don't worry Bernie, I ain't leaving the area. Least not the Virginia area. :D

I'm not going to make the trip this weekend, found something "Jeep" related to do. And if ya got a two-wheel car dolly I can borrow speak up so I don't have to rent a U-haul one. :D
