Just trying to find out if anyone on here is currently stationed at Ft Irwin. I will be making my way there in Feb. 2010. Looking for someone that knows the area well and could show the new guy where all the good trails are at. If not then it will be time to explore!

Sweet, so I take it you know where all the good spots are already? I'm definately stoked to get there and start wheeling again. I havn't had a CONUS duty station in 11 years.

I have been there before but I only know a few spots. Don't worry we will hook up with some people that know their way around. California is full of good wheeling spots, and rock climbing if you are into that as well.

My report date is 10April but my Deros is 10 Feb. You better believe I am reporting 60 days early. And Chuck, if you are going to Stewart I promise I will see you out in the box. After rotation you can sneak off and come get a good dinner at my house then we will go wheel the Heep.

Well you got alot of sand. Though ive never been wheeling in SD, I hear Jerry Cans are nice to have on as usually the trails about about 2 hours away from civilization so Jerry Cans can keep you wheeling for a bit longer.

I was stationed there for a few years. SoCal has the BEST wheeling of anywhere else I have ever been by FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have some great trials over by Calico Ghost Town, just miles away. The Hammers aren't far. There is a shit loud of BLM around the area. You have Big Bear not to far. Go south down and inland from San Diego an you have even more places to go.

Did I mention that SoCAl has BY FAR THE BEST WHEELING of any place I have ever been many times over.

Check out this site www.jeepaholics.com (http://www.jeepaholics.com)

To put it another way: There is KICK ASS WHEELING in SOCAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I misss it so bad, i don't miss CA enough to make me ever want to liver there again but I miss the wheeling.
