Trail report:
A great weekend for sure. It was great to meet people for the first time and get back together with some older friends.
Saturday list of attendees:
Dragline
Don
boomer (shotgun)
05Warrior
Oldschool
USMCjeepharleyguy
Pacifier (shotgun)
jeepmadman
miljeep
korisu56
Got together at the pre-described hard times and locations. We did our Saturday run at Dry River with only a couple hang ups. Dragline hit a big ole rock in the river just past mudbath that required Jeepmadman's jeep and Miljeep and I jumping in the cold water. The seems to move alot faster when you're standing in it :) . We got him off the rock and out of the water and limped him off the trail by completing the run. Special note, 05warrior and his four angry squirrels were the only ones to make a certain obstacle of which I'm sure someone has pics of. At around 1530, the rain started coming down hard. Felt bad for oldschool. A lot of thunder and lightning and some big ole drops of rain. We got everyone off the trail and everyone, save myself and dragline, proceeded to reload oldschools trailer with the M38. Dragline and myself took his JK back to the Sheetz to clean out the rest of the water. Went to dinner at Chili's and Dragline took off for home.
Sunday attendees:
02tj
toblave (BWJ)
oldschool
05warrior
jeepmadman
miljeep

Did the Flag Pole Knobb run first. A few of us had never been there before, or that far into the forest. Nice views and easy trail. Stopped for lunch at the top, and headed back down so that oldschool could pack up and head back. 02TJ and toblave broke off to go scout out more trails for future runs (teaser night run with technical trail?) . The rest of us (miljeep, jeepmadman, 05warrior, myself) went and did Dry River backwards. We flew threw the very very wet trail from the back to mudbath in about 45 minutes. Upon arriving there, we stumbled across an explorer with a flat tire and a grand wagoneer stuck in a hole with a flat tire and non-functional drivetrain. Recovered the waggy and the explorer took off. Wheeled around a bit. Janice (mrs. miljeep (hint get your own name)) drove the entire Dry River run. She then completed the same obstacle Andrew did the day before :). Headed off the trail, grabbed some really good chow at Texas Roadhouse and headed out.

A couple from my computer before bed.
It was a great ride and my family and I wanted to thank everyone for attending. We did have a lot of fun, and I did have a chance to learn a little about the new JK. :) Everyone got off the trail on their own power and nobody got injured. Good ride. Heck, I even got my wife to drive through Dry River today and she went from start to finish. She even tried a muddy hill climb, or should I say muddy hole climb (depending on where you stood).
I am going through the photos and videos now. I will posts the videos later, but here are some pics

I have added some videos and will continue to add more today. I think I have about 8 left at the time I post this link.

I met a great group of people and had an awsome time. The M38 held up well even though Diego tried to drown it in a raging river! I am looking foward to the next outing.

You tried to follow Diego.
Course he probably needed a tug somewhere. :D
Looks like you all had a great time. Wish I had been there.
looks like you had a good time. Does the jeep have to be street legal to wheel there?

Official Answer - "YES"
Unofficially your own risk if it ain't. The National Forest is pretty explicit in it's rules for GWNF. Now the Salt Shed though is owned by the City of Harrisonburg, and no one can seem to hammer down anything explicit from them in trail regards.

Good pics Rick
Last night on the way home my wife said she wants a SWB jeep that she can build up and not be her daily driver, but just be something that she can use on the trails. I am not exactly sure, and I may be putting more thought into this than she expects me to, but I am pretty sure that she gave me a green light to get another jeep, but say it's for her.

Buy it before she changes her mind. :D
How SWB do you want to go? The CJ5 compared to the YJ , makes the YJ look like a LJ.
Uh, Chris.............. that wasnt flag pole. We were only on flag pole knobb. Flag pole is a whole other trail. We still had the eastern part of the trail to do before oldschool decided to go back. I wasnt gonna let him go back by his-self w/ no radio and on a new to him trail.:D

I may usually need a tug from time to time, but most of the time you need a winch and a trailer :)

Hey to my honest recollection the Cow Beast has not been winched. And as for the trailer ride--it was just resting.:p

Moved from the original post to the trip report...
Just wanted to say thanks for everyones help. Limped home but made it home. Get this, wife is encouraging me to buy parts and build bigger so I'm giving the CC a workout. We had a great time meeting everyone, could not ask for a better bunch of folks. The rock was actually submerged and got pushed up and out of the water, the rock won this time... John
P.S. Bought a new Stab, Evap Can relocation kit and Steering stab relocation bracket so far.

She has never been present at a Cow Winching.
The Cow has been winched 4 times.
1 - Crozet - Was in the middle of the Rock Creek Bed when it was discovered the my Lower Control Arm Bracket was no longer attached to the axle.
The other 3 times were all done by Deadman getting pulled out of the Gulch.
Maybe I need to take Heather wheeling more often.
