Ok so due to a worn out U-Joint my rear driveshaft blew out and it also damaged my pinion yoke. Got a replacement driveshaft already and have a pinion yoke on order. My concern is not messing up the crush sleeve when putting the new one in. Anybody have expirence on this?

Talk to 05warrior as he's about to change out his rear seal. I'd be worried about the crush sleeve as well.

Don't talk to me, I have no clue. Come out saturday and we can figure both out together.

Sounds good--if the new pinion comes in in time will try to limp it out there(its out in warrenton right now).

georgia, you need an inch pound tourque wrench.

what ya do, is take the tires off, put this inch pound wrench on the pinion nut and spin until the roters just barely spin, this is called preload. then you break the pinion nut loose, put the new pinion off and tighten the pinion nut down until you reach the same amount of force.

atleast this is how it was explained to me so as not to further crush the crush sleve or mess anything else up. i think my preload was like 19inlbs
