Sounds like it's about time for you to try something new and exciting haha.
Might be putting together a short notice Walker Valley run Saturday. I'll have to get details today and post them up if anyone's interested.
hey, no fair! I miss Washington! Orting.... holla!

Come on back. I think seeing that front bumper in person would be the last little shove I need to buy my own.
well i wish i was back home to play at the valley. maybe next year if i dont go to the desert instead.
Keep me posted I'll be here for a couple more years. Not opposed to off season wheeling whenever you are around though.
Hey there, I am stationed in Ft lewis, although I am currently in the box for a couple more months. I was only there for a few months before I deployed but had a chance to run Naches and another place in the cascades(that slips my mind) Beautiful country...of course it was summer. Family and I can't wait to get back.
I've wanted to run Naches since I got here, but I can never convince any of my buddys to go that far. Hpw was it?
go to links for jeeps .com we are running walker next weekend and Naches in july
I'll be in NY next weekend, but perhaps I'll be able to make naches.
Naches was a great run and the terrain, suprisingly it varied from mud and rock hill climbs in the pine forests to slickrock playgrounds up near "moonrocks". We tent camped on the American river and I have some GPS coordinates if you want them

Looks awesome! Think I'd make it with open axles? Some of my upgrades funding backed out, so I had to put lockers on the back burner. I hate buyers that flake on you... :(
you should be fine you have a winch and a lift it should be fine for what the trail is but if you want to play on some of the things we are going to go by like moon rocks you will just have to try and find out thats the fun of it. as far as the actual run you will be ok.

Sweeeeet I'm in once I get back.
So I've heard rumors of a Jeep trail on the back side of Mt. Baker that goes to the summit. My buddy showed me where it was supposed to be on a map, but he transfered shortly after. Does anyone know of this trail?
I am not sure if it is the right trail but if you take the 20 east out towards Concrete you will see a sign for Mt. Baker Lake. Follow that road out a good distance and you will come to a gate, it is closed in the winter but I believe it should be opened by now. I have been out on the Stennis for the last month and still am, so I am not sure what kind of weather you have been getting but as long as they can plow it should be open.Sorry for the vauge directions but I actually stumbled upon it while I was out on a sunday drive. It really easy to find and you shouldnt have a problem with it. There is camping out at the lake also, at least I could see the spots through the snow when I was up there in March. I am going to try to get up that way when I get back to Anacortes and the wife and I have the same weekend off. I am hoping next weekend but since I have will have been gone for almost 5 weeks I am sure she will have some things for me to do for the first week or so.

Thanks I'll look into it. Is that on the back side of the hill or on the side with the ski resort. I think the trail was supposed to be on the back side.

We just got off the boat today so I am going to head up there either tomorrow or Wednesday so I will let you know. I do believe it is the back side because when you go to the lake you can are looking at the back of Baker.

I was floating around SOCAL on a big gray boat called the USS John C. Stennis, hopefully for the last time before my orders come in. The internet, when working, is worse then 14.4 dial up.

Excuses, excuses, excuses!!! Welcome back to port Bro.:D:beer:
Well I made it up there today and could not find a trial that would go up to Baker that you could drive. I did find a Road/Trail that you can drive almost 30 miles off hwy 20 then hike in. Plus there are a crap load of trails that run off of the main road (Baker Lake Rd.) that you can check out. Trails are in pretty good shape or in the process of being fixed, just a nice drive and great scenery. Here are a few photos of the drive.
The last two photos show the difference in the lake from March to June, the photo in march was taken next to the blue sign from the June photo where the boat launch is now.
That looks like a pretty awesome place to bring the girl. I'll have to head up there exploring see what I can find.

Thanks, but I'll be elbow deep in my transfer case this weekend trying to find where my four wheel drive went. We've got a group going to Walker the following weekend though. If the rigs are ready by then that is.
did you still want to do Naches with us? it is right up the road from you and we are meeting the night of the 17 and going from 17 to 20th.

17th is too far out for me to make real plans, but I'm always down if m'becky is feeling up to it.

Looks like you guys had a good time in the Naches area. I live between Cle Elum & Ellensburg. I play around Naches and Rimrock a lot. Hopefully on one of your trips we can hook up.
