I guess it's for an auto? why are you adjusting it? On an auto, I have no clue, but if it's cause of your lift the instructions should tell you what you need to do.
Give us some more info and someone should be able to help you out.
do you have at least a hayns or chiltons manual?

Body lift? tummy tuck? what is the problem? T-case drop? Im just guessing here but is the problem that you put on a body lift/and or a transfer case drop kit and now it does not like to shift into 2nd or reverse?

hhhhmmm wish i could help but i have not put a sye on before so i dont know what all you need to remove and swap out and mess with. But the shift linkage is on the left hand side of the transfercase that we told you about in the other topic you posted.

Im not sure if the stock one is adjustable. I know that skyjacker makes a adjustable one that i have put on 2or 3 jeeps and it worked really well i thing it was like $50 or so at the local 4 wheel parts. might be something to look into if the stock one is not adjustable. sorry i cant be more help.

As per the FSM
1. shift transfer case into 4L
2. raise vehicle
3. loosen lock bolt on adjusting trunnion (its a block w/ a bolt on the rod that hooks to the shift lever)
4. be sure linkage rod slides freely in trunnion. Clean rod and apply lube if necessary.
5. verify that transfer case range lever is fully engaged in 4L
6. tighten adjusting trunnion lock bolt
7. lower vehicle
Not sure if this will help, I never installed a SYE (the manual is for an '04).
