Remember the goober spotter who saved the one jeep? Same course, jeep not as lucky. No spotter, just a bunch of giggling onlookers:

I think that would have saved him...he was too cautious and had no forward momentum going into the drop.

Well I think the next time I am in that AO I will use a spotter! Seems to be a tricky spot.......I will use a spotter in a heartbeat but the threat still stands.

(Funny short story: I was at Gore, VA with my best friend. We were in a pretty precarious position and I asked my best friend to jump out and give me a spot. He looked me dead in the eye and said, "Screw you, I know you and have read what your roll cage says....." It wasn't until I promised I would not turn his head into a canoe that he got out and kept me from flipping the rig down into an abyss.

Reminds me of the time I asked my buddy to spot for me, and he took off running as son as I started coming up the trail towards him.

Throttler out does not work all the time though. It has saved my ass a few times but the really sucky ones are the ones where it does not and you thought you make the obstical untill you see the ground comming at you from the wrong way as you go over backwards. I try to reserve my heavy right foot for times when im dropping off steep stuff or drop offs cause we all know about the pucker factor when you feel your back tires start to come off the ground.
