What kind of items / products would you like to see available at all times at a local shop if you had the choice?
Just gathering some ideas.

At all times? You talking a business shop, Belvoirs Auto Hobby, BWJ's school shop, or a personal garage?
Compressor and a good welder I think would top the list.
Past that, multiples of the same sized sockets and wrenches.

Common mid-priced upgrades and repairs. Lighting, storage (armored glove boxes/consoles), u-joint (replacement and upgrades), seat covers, wraingler nets, synthetic line...etc. Good mid level priced impact purchase stuff is normally the best bet when stocking a shop...also armor (rockers, trail corners, skids). Generally items under $300 are pretty good for that. Also...if you have a good vendor that carries a variety of hula girls... :)
I agree with Jeff...be able to order higher dollar stuff, but stock mid priced things and things that seem to be harder to get/find from regular parts stores.

Someone that speaks English.
That's a big plus nowadays.
And like Jeff & Truck said the ability to order for the customer is a huge plus.
Work with the Vendors to hawk their wears.
Well, I understand having to order big ticket items like bumpers, tires, skids, basically the stuff that is larger, expensive and not really easy to keep in stock.
But, I would like to see a place that carries the smaller stuff, like the minor modifications that you may want to add to your jeep and don't want to have to order a bunch of crap along with it online just to make the shipping charges worth it.

Que?
Oddly enough it's hard to get D shackles at my local off road shop he never has them in stock. I think doorless mirrors(sorry drawing a blank on the actual term) would be good to have, and on a more comical note keep a good supply of torx tips and PB blaster.
I just moved the post to here since it seems like it could benefit from input from people outside of the mid atlantic region.

Smaller to mid range items for CJs. I really get tired of having to order just about everything I need. Some busty women in bikinis would be a big plus.

Shocks, all the driveline crap(u-joints, drive shafts, etc.), air intakes, exhuasts, and some of the other $500 and under things. As well as a spot for consignment used parts that you can bring into the shop and leave to be sold for a small fee. i.e. stock suspensions, wheels and tires, the stuff hardcore guys take off can be a source of income for their next upgrade and help you gain a good rep for always having that hard to find stock replacement for the intermediate jeeper who is looking to upgrade there YJ with TJ components, or the TJ owner that needs to replace that stock rim he bent while wheeling on 31s and no lift.

Great suggestions gentleman, keep them coming.
Sincerely,
Being a previous YJ owner I'd have to toss in the following: Duraliner or Rhinoliner kits, replacement shackles/bushings, SYE kits, and all the OEM parts that the dealershit never seems to carry.
As a new ZJ owner, rock sliders, and uhh, I have no idea what I need for it yet.
Parts for softtops would be a plus too.....Something is always stripping out, wearing out etc....if you remove the top a lot like I do. Put it on...take it off....Put in on........South Dakota weather. 76* one day, snow the next........ X2 on everything else listed above in the forum....

On top of everything listed above and more, knowledge! There is nothing worse than going to a shop with a question, and having the guy behind the counter go, "Umm, I just work here buddy.". The ability to provide reliable answers, and quality service, even when someone isn't buying something goes an awful long way when they do want to buy. Especially if they think you you really know what your talking about, they will buy whatever you think is best, and 9 times out of 10 they will buy it from you. Just my $.02
I'm a tech-head, so I'd LOVE to see something like this (and could probably help to make it):
A touch screen system that has all jeep models in 3D with every part rendered and replaceable. The ability to create and save your models and customize it with what you really have on it. And then, when something breaks, or it's time to upgrade, you know exactly what you need. You can order it from home on a website or something. Just my random idea for the hour.
