Ever since I put my lift on last year (RE 3.5, shocks, springs, 33's) my jeep rocks back a forth when I stop. The ride is harsher than I think it should be, but this rocking is making me crazy. Any ideas?
is it rocking front to rear or side to side and what kind of sway bar do you have if it is after market then your going to have more sway because thats the way it is designed, but if your rocking front to rear i dunno somthing ain't right check your control arms and tighten any bolts that might be loose

Same question..... Side to side or front to back.
Side to side = check your front and rear track bars.
front to rear = loose control arms / worn out shocks

Front to rear. Control arms are tight, shocks are new. Would shock that are too small do this? I feel like I have more spring than shock, but if that were the case, I wouldnt think the road ride would be so harsh. I'm at a loss. I guess its time to throw some money at it

Too big would be too much spring I would think. On a scale of 1-10 - 1 being so minute that you have to ride for 10 miles in dc traffic to notice, 10 being so scared that you're going to roll- how bad is it?

Its not bad, I just feel it rocking front to back when I stop. Thats the only time I feel it. I come to a stop sign and it rocks a little.
It only aggravates me, cause I know it shouldnt do it. I'm going to look at the s/n's on the springs to see if they sent me the right ones for the lift.
It think this post just started a new Korisu56 Jeep Diagnostic Scale:
thats pretty close but for him if it's 8 or better then "awh it'll be fine" the Korisu famous quote

my quote is a little more colorful, but you're pretty close josh. I'm loving that scale. That should be the site scale for when people post problems.

Ding Ding!! Tell 'em what he's won Bob!!!
Might be the wrong spring rate for your jeep...Do you have a hardtop, huge rear bumper/swingaway tire carrier w/monster 220lb tire wheel combo hanging off the back, w/another 100 pounds of tools in the back w/ hi-lift jack thrown on top all weighing the jeep down?...I had same problem on my 1st project jeep and simply put Skyjacker Nitro 8000 shocks on and problem solved......Springs were still soft, but shocks stabilized the problem.........Didn't notice rocking til I added weight with bumpers, larger tires, etc.. and budget lift.

HUH? i dont see these "scales" must be blind or lost one of the two. But Sounds like wrong spring rate to me as well. like cknx said.
I will post it again tonight. The Korisu56 Diagnostic scale is a very important tool when discussing and trying to diagnose almost any possible jeep problem. The scale went through many changes to better suit the needs of those using it and was changed to also allow for the addition of the JK into the calculations. I think we were at version 2.0 when it was offically released as the final product. I have it saved somewhere at home, but it was like one of those sliding scales to help detect the severity of a problem.
Oh, i forgot.. when we moved everthing to this new board, we lost some of the attachments, that is why you cannot see it.

Well, I may be new to the board, but I believe I can provide some insight to this issue as my wifes Jeep has the 3.5 RE lift. The first thing I would do is loosen all the control arm bolts. Then move the jeep 10 feet back wards, and then 10 feet forwards. Re-torque the bolts and that should help the rocking condition. When a Jeep is lifted and the control arm bolts are tightened at anything but ride height it binds up the bushings. Also, if you got those awesome Dotchtech shocks, they inherently ride hard. I put a set of RE mono tube shocks on the wifes jeep and they helped out. It wont ride like my LA Unlimited, but it isn't bad for a short arm system. If you need any more advise let me know. I am still working out the vibe issues caused by the Nth Degree tummy tucker I put on hers.
Good info. I may try that just to make sure everything is good since it had a chance to settle. Where were you when I had all the popping noises? :D

I was hanging around on my club site, well I am sure I will get on here often as I am on leave until I check out for my orders. If you need anything, let me know.
