Question for you Cali guys?

I have an 88 xj which I guarantee will not pass smog because it has the wrong year engine about to go in it which will remove the EGR and pretty much leave the computer in cold start mode for ever.

Any ideas on how to register this thing when I get to California in Feb?

Keep it registered in Montana! That's what I do. You can get away with a lot more if you do. If your base requires smog, you only have to get the federal, not the California, so it saves you a few bucks and is not as harsh. Where are you headed to?
