I'm now sold on the idea of running coil overs on a JK. I recently put my Alpha1 kit through it's trials this past weekend and I was all smiles. The ride is MUCH smoother and the front end just felt more stable and secure. While I am running with stock control arms I didn't get much articulation - I did get a much more cushioned fall when the front end would come back down. No creaks, squeaks, or groans. As you can see - I do have a tire in the air meaning I'm not getting loads of travel, but once I upgrade to a long arm kit I'll be able to keep a foot on the ground at all times.

I would have had much more articulation if I had disconnected my sway bars but because I don't have bump stops installed yet I didn't want to let it all hang free.

I just need to get the rear end built so I can really get a smooth ride!

Kit was under $2k in parts and then figure a couple hundred to fine tune it - I did most of the labor (got it so it'd roll in a relatively straight line.)

Stock control arms - yes.

Do you have some info on what parts you used, and best place to purchase them. Also did you do the rear too?

I'm doing the rear within the month - parts are on order.

Dude, that thing is sick. I may have found my next mod after I get my axles. What size lift and tires are you running? You've got loads of clearance.

The coils are fully adjustable - I'm running at about max height (something like 6".) 35" Toyo MT's on a 17x9 Trail Ready beadlock.

Better pic of stretch with my front sway bar disconnected.
