Hi, My name is George (Jackrabit)and I am retired Air Force.
And now I work for the US Army at Ft Wainwright, Civil service for DPW in the Fire Alarm Shop.
I have been up here in Alaska off and on since the late 80's.
The wheeling up here is outstanding.
Over the years I have owned several ok numerous Jeeps they say there is a 12 step program for this. First was an 80 CJ-7, 98TJ, 83 J-10, 85 CJ-7, 87&88 XJ, 75 CJ-5, 73 J4000, 75 J-10, 74 FSJ Cherokee. Right now I have another 98 TJ 4 Banger, with 2" Budget boost lift,1 1/4" body lift(awaiting install)33x10.5 15 BFG MT's,ARB air locker for the front axle. Kilby steering box skid and gas tank skid(awaiting install). Rubicon Express sway bar disconects, custom front bumper with 12k Mile Marker winch. Hard and soft tops, and half doors. My wife, who by the way just retired from the Alaska Air National Guard last friday also has an 06 TJ.
And awaiting time and of course Money, I have a 63 Wagoneer with a factory PTO winch, which I'm hopping to start on before spring. And a 70 Waggy for parts.
I belong to Arctic Offroad A local 4X4 club, It is very nice club with lots of good folks, even some who don't drive Jeeps. We do alot of wheeling and wrenching together, more than half our club is either military from Eielson AFB, Fort Wainwright or are Veterans. I'll post up on our site about you guys. I'll try to post some pics of our rigs. Bye for now.
