Welcome. The job sounds pretty sweet. I would love to go to antarctica for like 10 seconds just to say I have been there.

I have been on a C-130 a couple of times, but usually fly on a C-17. There is a lot more wiggle room in a C-17, but the C-130 still seems to be a workhorse and even though they are usually pretty old, they hold up pretty well. Are you going to be a pilot or other part of the crew?

Welcome!

The C-130 "Hercules" is the workhorse of the Military. Flown on them many times....but only landed in them a few times.

now the C-5 Galaxy is a HUGE plane. Back when I worked with PATRIOT, we got to fly in them pretty often. Deploy here, deploy there.... what fun

I was about to say...when we go to Dover AFB to do Dignified Transfers we get to see C5's. Holy crap.

I worked the C-5 for most of my Mil career. Hard to believe that they have retired a few of the C-5A models already. They are huge but once you work around them awhile you get use to the size. They will keep you in shape just by going up and down the steps. Did I mention that they break a lot?

Yeah I noticed that not many of the ones we saw never really moved.
