Teraflex rear shock mount relocation brackets

I just put these on my rear D44 today. It was a real time consuming install for just a couple brackets with a few pieces of hardware. They did not come even close to fitting when I got them.. It took me about an hour of grinding and refitting (per bracket) before I was able to get them on, and it was still a PITA at that point. Not sure if other companies make better ones. This is the first bad product I've gotten from Teraflex. Everything else I've bought from them has been perfect the first time, so I think I'll let this one slide.

Mine didn't fit well either, had to drill out the hole in the front of the factory bracket so I could get the bolt to line up with the threaded hole in the relocation bracket. Then several times I had to retighten all the bolts since they worked loose and I kept hearing a bump or thud on bumps and during acceleration and deceleration. In the end I ran a bead everywhere I could get at and they have been fine since.

I had to grind about 3/8" off the top for them to fit, and it still took some hammering to get them on. Haven't driven on them yet, will post up again when I do.

btw, that's a good idea to weld them up, i'll probably do that too.

What do you expect of a bolt on product, trying to bolt onto something that gets bashed. I would suguest cutting the OEM mounts off and weld a new set of mounts up on the axle center line. That will add ground clearence and keep them from getting bashed up. Plus you can get 4 mounting tabs cheaper than the relocators.

The mounts weren't bashed up, it was just that the bracket wasn't wide enough at the top, so I had to take a little off the top. When I go bigger though, I'm definitely going to do what you said and cut off the old brackets and weld on some new ones.

Thanks! Actually getting a set of 50% worn 35" MT/Rs from a friend this weekend. Should be a tight fit, but should be a way better match for those gears I have than the 32's are right now.

I'm going to have a Teraflex 3" lift mounted by the local Jeep/4x4 place. I hope I get good results from it. Glad to hear that your experiences with Teraflex are generally good.
