Mid atlantic convoy

We did it last year... any interest in doing it this year?
I'm thinking about heading up Friday around noon. I seem to remember it's about a 4 hr drive from the Nova area, and I'd like to get on the road before the normal Friday afternoon traffic. Would also like to get an early start in case we encounter any problems on the way..like a blown out trailer tire :D00i00

If there's enough interest, we'll figure out a meeting point as the time draws closer.

I'm going up sat leaving at 7 pm afterwork it's a three hour trip from Arlington

Jeff, Justin and I are planning to leave around the same time as you are on Friday so we can deff. talk about it. Come by the shop the weekend before atleast so we can finalize plans.

I will be joining the convoy up. Hopefully by then I can get a CB so I can let everyone know when I need to stop for a pee pee break. My GPS sucks too and I'd get lost driving on my own.

You know that if you were to wear your Pull-Ups on the way up there and on the trail you wouldn't have to worry about stopping to go Pee Pee or even Poo-Poo.

And if you thing there may be a chance of you crying then you may want to bring a couple tampons.

I just want to make sure that your prepared for whatever happens.

As far as getting lost: We were kinda counting on it

There will be 5 rigs from my unit convoying from FT Belvoir to RC, linkup and departure time have not been finalized yet but noon would be a good time.

We are planning linkup at the parking lot by the BOSS vehicle resale lot on Gunston Road between the post office and the amphitheater. There is enough room to stage a convoy there and do pre departure commo and vehicle checks.

That sounds like the start of a good plan. I've been trying to find a place large enough and near the highway for a group of jeeps to stage up, but have been to swamped.

I think if there is enough room to stage 3 rescue trucks (One pulling an incident command trailer), an F-750 box truck, and 3 15 pax vans with plenty of room left over - there is enough room for a few Jeeps.... :D

Noon is starting to sound like a good departure time. Thinking about a linkup time of 11. Enough time for introductions, inspections, convoy brief, and commo check.

The Belvoir convoy is meeting up on Fort Belvoir at the corner of Gunston Road and Abbott street. In the parking lot between the POV resale lot and the post office.

The group will begin staging at 11 and depart at noon. Vehicle inspection, convoy brief, and commo check before departure. SSG Holibaugh is convoy commander. Unit address (Next to staging area is: 9001 Gunston Road, Building 2105 Suite B, FT Belvoir, VA 22060.
