Hi all,

I'm in the DC area. Live down by Belvoir, work near Andrews and moving to the Pentagon in June.

Drive (when it's running :D ) an '83 CJ7. Been a few years since I've been 'wheelin (overseas assignments, deployments, work, the usual BS) but I'm ready to go at it again.

Jeep has a few mods. Swapped in a 304 with a 4bbl, cam, headers. 2 1/2 in lift. Winch. Spent a bunch of money getting the rust cut out and new pannles welded in.

If anyone knows of any "local" trails or is headed out this weekend let me know.

Erik

Have some pics at home that I will try to post in the next couple of days. Tonight I am going to re-install the 4bbl carb and manifold; had to remove them when I was in Cali to pass emissions (that is a story I will be glad to tell over several beers).

Irish: I was at Ft Carson and used to go to a place called FN Jeep to get parts. Is he still around?

If anyone knows of any "local" trails or is headed out this weekend let me know.

There are very few local Private Trails to Alexandria, a few illegal ones (don't even reccomend them on a lark, majority of them of vehicle confisication rules).
Closest Legal Free Wheeling is Harrisonburg, Va. If you watch the Mid-Atlantic section, you will see rides to Dry River/Salt Shed (Fun Mud & River Crossing) and Flagpole(Fire road few obstacles but great for intro-ing people to basics of wheeling). Those are all in Harrisonburg in the George Washington National Forest.
There is free one in Greenridge, Md to in the National/State Park there, short mainly stocker friendly fun mud.
Peter's Mill & Tasker's Gap in Eidenburg, Va, $5/day or $30 for the season per driver. Usually overrun by ATV's during the Summer. I did a Winter run there and it was fun in the snow.

Then you have the pay to play parks -
Crozet (Crozet, Va) - Have to be sponsored by a Member, if you like Rock this is the place for you.
Rausch Creek, Pa - Little of everything

Jeep Clubs in the area -
BWJ - Beltway Jeepers
NJ - NoVa Jeepers
OCC - Off Camber Crawlers

If you want a lot of Jeeps on this Saturday is the Show & Shine at Manassas Jeep put on by NJ. I'll be out there.
