:beer::beer::beer:.....
that being said, names Derek. prior Army 11B from Fort Myer, VA-3rd Infantry. now living in Texas and re-enlisted with the Air National Guard after college to do what I went to school for in the first place, Emergency Management/Disaster Response. interesting story about the 97 Wrangler I have. bought it in DC and sold it when I got out. then, right when I re-enlisted I bought the same Jeep back from my brother. now I am fixing her up. in the next few weeks, I'll be spending around $2600 bones to get it how I like it. posting pictures to time line the whole refurb. this Jeep will also function as my storm tracking vehicle. my other hobby is storm spotting for the National Weather Service so, if you're a HAM or interesting in amateur radio to use while on the trails, I know a little bit. good to be on board here. bout time somebody put something like this together. got the trail flag ordered for me and my bro-n-law who's currently in Afghanistan. owns a 98 Wrangler and flies Chinooks for the 101st. trying to get him to hop on here when he has time.

Derek :rolleyes:

Welcome. So are you a readiness troop or what?

Yeah, Readiness/EM now.

Thanks for all of the kind greetings. Much appreciated. Several times I've missed being active duty for camaraderie reasons alone. Being a full-time civilian has its pluses but not the same feeling. More cut-throat and the loyalty can't even compare.

I was in Echo Company which at the time (prior to the restructuring of the entire Old Guard) was also Honor Guard Company. Back when all specialty Platoons were assigned to Hotel Company.

I too was there before the restructuring. In C Co. I was in colors (aka the colors team that beat CCG from '02 - '04 :D )

I was in Aco during the reconstruction until 07. Now I'm in Caisson.

Caisson seems to be the place to be right now. I was talking to some guys that are in C Co when I stopped by there a while ago (looking for maps of AP Hill - my reserve unit didn't have any!!) and they weren't really painting a pretty picture.

I still miss some aspects of that job though

Oh, I have plenty, I wasn't about to let some finance / admin geeks (no offence ;) ) draw all over my maps though!

LOL, just realized I even have an AP Hill map in the back of the Jeep.
