Anyone know where i could find side mirrors that mount not on the doors?
I came on post the other day with my doors off the jk and they said i have to have at least one side mirror but i dont know where to get any or if any bodyhas some i am willing to deal

You could go with something like these:

This way you could just reuse your stock mirrors instead of forking out cash for new ones.

The American Outlaw mirrors work on the JK. I have a set for the LJ and they are very nice, minimal vibration and very secure off road. Details here:

Since you are on Belvoir, we could meet on post and I can show them to you.

The only Issue with them is that since they go on the hinge itself, on TJ's you cannot use them and soft doors at the same time. Since I will be getting soft doors, Im thinking of selling them as 02 tj hooked me up with a nice set of 97-02 mirrors mounted on movers.

I got dinged at the gate here at Camp Pendleton when I first checked in last month. I have been driving a doorless Jeep through various bases gates for 15+ years without a problem.

A handful of times I would get the "Where are your mirrors?" to which I would reply.."On the doors." After several seconds of seaching for my mirrors on my non existant doors..they would flush and wave me through. Didn't work here.

Harley Motorcycle mirrors fit perfectly in the bracket for the doors. Add a couple drops of locktite to the nut on the bottom. They don't really work for a crap, but they keep the guys at the gate satisfied. I picked mine up off EBay for 20$ plus shipping.

:) I was thinking one of those bike mirrors that have the flexible arm on them. Let me see if i can find a photo of one. They are only like 4 bucks and would count as a mirror I guess.
