OK so i am at my wits end with this thing, and i really need someone to help me figure out why my heep is not shifting into 4wd. i have heard everyones suggestions on what it might be, but i really have no clue what to do to rectify the situation. i will pay you in beer if need be. but right now it is not drivable, so it would have to be done at my base's auto hobby shop. please let me know. thank you

freaking everyhting...t-case been apart three times by myself, looked for binding in shifter linkage....but the problem is i could not tell you if the stuff in the t-case is right or not, or if the shifter linkage is off or not. i have researched booth, and even after i read up on it i am standing there dumbfounded.....i am more of a someone looking over my shoulder telling me how to do it, then i catch on type of guy.

what year jeep is? did you check the vacuum lines hooked the the front shift fork? line might be either cracked or sometimes they get unplugged from the housing or you could have broken the fork that slides the sleeve from 2 wheel to 4 wheel. i have both of them happen to me. to really solve that problem with the vacuum lines is to get the 4x4 posi cable that sells in quadratec. is the 4x4 light coming on when you engage the lever? could also be the vacuum switch ontop of the tcase sometimes they go bad cause the little ball on the bottom sticks all those scenarios are easly fixable. where are you stationed at cause i will be at the meet and greet in alexandria on tuesday 717 421 6109 is my number if you have any more questions.

If it is a shift fork I think I have one in the back of the XJ, I can retrieve it next weekend. I have it parked at Deadman's right now.
Its $14/15 through Quadratec. I've broke one in the XJ and the YJ before. Even have a spare Vacuum motor now.

no i replaced th broken shifter fork and the 4wd is light when it is in 4wd. i recently did a SYE and believe that either the shifter linkage needs to be adjusted, but i do not know how to do that, and i do not want to crack the t-case open if there is nothing that needs to be adjusted in there. because i do not know what i am looking at in there either.

Right down the road from Belvoir, about 4 or 5 miles away. The address is listed in the original post for the M&G, but it is in the plaza down route 1 by Five Guys with Home Depot, Coldstone and other stores.
