some one we know here with out a drivers licens just got a car titled & tagged by the state, not even sure if he has insurance on it.

this totaly trips me out. but he wasn't the only one that told us that you dont NEED a D/L to get a vehicles' title transfered over & tags put on it by the state.
how much of this is fact & how much is because the guy was on some seriously good crack?

i was just on here (http://www.dmv-department-of-motor-vehicles.com/TN_Tennessee_dmv_department_of_motor_vehicles.htm) & not able to find the info i am lookin for, or am i just lookin in the wrong area?
im askin in here because i know that there are people in here that are much better at findingn stuff than i am on this stupid computer (almost every time i try to look something up , i can find it).

thanks & keep it muddy!:beer::beer:

My wife and I just moved down to Tn from NJ and we had to surrender our NJ licenses' and our titles to get our Jeeps registered and re-titled in Tn. Don't know if that answers your question.

it helps, beecee, thanks. the Pennsylvania inspection stickers & registration sticker expires at the end of this month (oops! lol) and we have to get it transfered over to Tenn. plates. so inline with "surrendering" the title to have it switched over (all i have is a PA. I.D. , but the 6 has a PA D/L) was there any eye exam you had to take to get your licence switched from a NJ to Tenn licence? (she is concerned about that).

hahaha you passed where i am to get to where you are now!!!

Since we both had valid NJ licenses, all we had to do was take a 1 minute eye exam, surrender our NJ licenses and Registrations. It took all of 15 minutes and we were on our way. Only thing wierd was we had to drive over to the Foothills Mall to pick up our new Tenn. plates. Their Plate section is actually in the mall.

only jokin. that not too bad then.

i'm sure that I could pass the eye test, but she thinks she will need to get new glasses lol.

but that is all good. we shall get it all squared away soon.

Well at least with you getting your D/L you can get the vehicles plated... she just won't be able to drive them until she gets the glasses issues taken care of, but at least you don't have to worry about any crap for the vehicles not being registered for any period of time...

bluedragon, not sure i can get my d/l here... i have a fine to pay in another state, not sure if that would hold me up gettin it here.?

i've heard that some states a person can have lost their d/l for DUI in that state & get their d/l in another state. but as a LAW ABIDING CITIZEN i'm not like that. i like to take care of my "little" problems.

ok so the jeep is legal now. and as soon as we get the "gift card" from the dmv here we can get this car (2002 chevy cavalier) switched over.
my girl friends brother gave us his car after he accuired a monte carlo. we just have to get everything switched over now :D
