Anyone from FL but located in a different state? I'm from FL but living in VA and want to register/title/tag my Jeep in FL.

Any help is appreciated.

1st step is to call the county tax collector in the county you want to register. They'll mail you the forms you need to fill out. You'll have to go to a local police station here to get your VIN verified, return that with the other paperwork, provide proof of insurance and military ID. I'm pretty sure you need to provide either a copy of a FL drivers license, or some other proof of residence. Yearly tag renewals are up to $80, it's probably twice that if it's your 1st year and need a tag.
Some of the people at the tax collectors office don't have a clue what they're doing... so when you tell them you're active duty military with FL as your state of residence, you live in VA, but want to register your vehicle in FL...... their head will explode. Just call back and talk to someone else.

I got a hold of someone today who had a clue thankfully............they are emailing me the forms and I'm hoping it all works out. The fee's are flipping expensive though...........holy crap.

Yeah, I forget what the initial fee's were. After the initial registration, it's $80 a year.
