I will be doing the Georgia and Alabama parts of the event, but not the Tennessee portion. The club holding the event is Hummer X Club, of which I'm a member. Yes, I drive a Jeep. That club is open to everyone, no matter the make of vehicle, although most of the members drive Hummers. The members of that club are extremely friendly. I've yet to find a Jeep club worth joining, but in the mean time I'm having a lot of fun being the screwball with a Jeep trailriding with Hummers. hahahahaha :D

I'll be camping...save LOTS of money that way. :) So, if you're tight on cash and don't want to stay at a hotel, you'll have someone to camp with. If so, keep in mind that I have a refridgerator/freezer in my Jeep that's capable of holding 60 beers.  :D

I hope at least some of you all can make this event and wheel with me before I head back to the sandbox. :)

Is this part of that WFTW tour around the US or just trail rides that are available?

miljeep...nope, not part of the WFTW program. This is just some guys getting together for some trail riding. :)

Fred...not sure about the whole Aetna thing. I'm sure the guy who planned this has checked it out, but I'll ask him to be sure and get back to you. I honestly hadn't planned on doing the TN leg of the event, but I haven't ruled it out either...it's going to be a game time decision. :)

Here's the info for Alabama. I got it off their website at http://www.morrismountainorv.com/

MMORV has primitive camping facilities to accommodate guests who are on a weekend long trip.

All guests are responsible for their own camping needs and supplies. There are local stores that can provide drinks, food etc., but you need your own tent bedding etc.

Please keep fire in the designated fire pits, pack all garbage up when you are done, and respect other campers who may be sleeping after 10:00 pm..

Showers and Bathrooms are now available at the park.

The place in Georgia is opening for the first time this weekend. One of the guys setting up this run is there and he's going to scout it out for us. I'll let you know what he finds out when he gets back.

As for the TN spot...do you need me to check on that as well, or have you been there before and were just needing the info for GA and AL?

some pics from Morris Mountain ORV... My own opinion is the Park ROCKS... a little for everyone their from big ol buggys to regular stockers.... the camping is primitive, and the 2 showers work....overall experience is this is a great park and we'll be back.

overall it was a good weekend. Very Happy the way the propane and the one tones acted.

had to set the tent on the trailer cause of space issues and it was muddy and raining.

Great pix...I'm looking forward to getting up there later this month!

After seeing the rain and mud, I'm glad I have a roof top tent. :D

I am settled in here in Alabama and would like to link up with you for this trip. I'll be camping too so you won't be alone. I'll pm you my cell phone so we can make linkup plans.

Unfortunately, I have to bail out on this event. I've got to go down to south Florida to sign a bunch of paperwork and out-process from my sheriff's office before going back to Iraq. I was supposed to do that this week, but since the Jeep isn't ready yet and I have a charity event this coming weekend, I had to stay in Jax and get that taken care of. That means I have to go to south Florida at the end of next week and therefore can't do this event.

SUCKS, but there's nada I can do. I'm blaming Dynatrac for holding onto my axles for FIVE DAYS after they were assembled and not shipping them out. They've been effin' up by the numbers and I'm not at all happy with them at the moment. They failed to send the ARB air compressor for the lockers, didn't fill the diffs like they said they would (damn good thing I checked before starting the Jeep up and driving with bone dry diffs), etc. They're on my sh*t list. I mean...call me crazy...buy when I pay $13.5K for axles, I expect a certain level of customer service.

Sorry to hear about the axles...that does suck! Well, we'll link up at some point I'm sure. Take care and let me know when you are in the area. Stay safe in Iraq.
