And a non disco'd 3wheel video.

I can raise the hood all the way with no clearance issues. Total install cost was under $10.

I take it with the light bar and the hi-lift, you don't put your windshield down much. ;)
I've thought about this mod in the past but wasn't sure...It looks like it works great though and there aren't any clearance issues with the hood....May have to rethink and buy the brackets!! I never put the windshield down anyway.

Here's a new pic from Mansfield Canyon.

As you can see I ditched the zip tie holding the handle and got one of those Hi-lift rubber handle keepers.
The jack is mounted via:
2x threaded rods
6x stainless washers
2x steel spacers
2x wing nuts
2x reg nuts
I'm gonna drill a hole in one of the threaded rods soon and put a small luggage lock on it.

Nope, always thought it looked weird with the hood down on the TJ (with the rollbar still on that is).

Why pay for expensive brackets?

Nice...$10 vs $100 that most places charge. I like it.
That's clean, I like it. Now you just need to "cut the legs off of it" so it doesn't walk away!

Ummm.....now that I see how you did it, won't need the brackets! I think I browse on Quadratec.com too much. Thanks for the pics, so I could see how you did that!

No problem, glad I could help!! It really is a super easy/secure installation. The nut on the back side keeps someone from trying to unthread the rod from the top.

Looks nice, but will the wing-nuts vibrate loose?

I went with the $100 option and still had to mod the mod to get it the way I wanted. I think that your option is just about as useful without the cost. I did upgrade the hardware to Grade 8 on my install.....the damn bolts are stronger than the sheet metal it is attached to but seemed like the thing to do.
Nice idea, and nice pictures. I just might give it a try. I'm just curious if having only a single bolt on each end of the jack results in any vibration or back-and-forth movement? It seems sturdy enough, but I'm wondering why others use a bracket on each side rather than a single bolt. Like I said, I'm not pessimistic -- just curious.
BTW, I really like your wheels also.
