November 6th for Flat Nasty, I think one event for this per year will be quite enough. We'll have better resaults for sponsors with only one of each kind.

Ok folks here we go, I know it's a ways out but I am starting to coordinate for the Toys for Tots toy drives at Flat Nasty The Waynesville TfT office will handle Flat Nasty in Dent county

So anyone who wants to help out let me know.

OK sent emails and talked to the Waynesville guy. Submitted event host info on line so now we just need some dates that we want to do it

I like doing events like this on Long Weekends since mo folks be out and about. Looked at the Calendar and 9-11 Oct is a good long weekend, " Columbus Day" and also 11-14 Nov, " Veterans Day " altho on Vet day, usually parades and such folks involved in. My Vote would be the 9-11 Oct weekend.

One concern on the Nov dates is it is Opening weekend for Deer rifle. I would bet SMORR will have hunters in it. I know SMORR always does the run the weekend after thanksgiving.

I willing to help as needed larry but the Month of Nov will be tricky. I promised my son i will be on the Green ramp at Fort Bragg when he returns from AFghan. Rgiht now thats projected to be anywhere from the two weeks before thanksgiving till a week after.

here's a note from FN, we need to set a date for this.

Hi Larry,
We can do the TfT event on any weekend in October or November except for October 25--that's our 15-Hour Nightmare event. My preferred date would be early November but any of the other weekends will work as well. Just let me know. I'll get it up on our web-site as soon as we have a date.

We talked to Ron at FN last Sunday and got some ideas from him how good events at his place went.
-SPONSORS
-food, sale of food to generate donation money for the cause. So we need food to cook and sell.
-volunteers to cook, trail guide, general stuff that needs done.
-flyers to post online and hardcopy
-letter of intent for potential sponsors (we have one we can modify for this.
-prizes, the begging and pushing to get descent prizes to raffle, get a ticket for a toy? extra tickets for sale.
- No event fee, just normal park fees.
-trail guides
- we talked about setting up a pre-registration for T-shirts and meal tickets but his experience with that was not good. I've seen it work well at other places but I dont know all the details behind it.
-T-shirts, sweat shirts?

I think it is a good idea, as discussed, that we list the details for the event and have people from the group volunteer for that position. This way you can have oversight that everything is covered and you don't get stuck with most of it. The food list that we had on the forum was good. Paying for a "plate" to raise money for TFT and I also like the idea of buckets for the big ticket raffles. I think we should still try the pre registration thing otherwise we might have a bunch of leftover stuff.

Ghost00TJ
08-10-2010, 14:50
left overs just about killed us for cmj, so a prepaid registration would help. Still we would have to buy extra for on site sales.

Wheeling for Toys for TOTS
Military Jeepers
Fort Leonard Wood, MO Chapter

MEMORANDUM TO: Prospective Charity Drive Sponsors for Toys for Tots.
FROM: Military Jeepers FLWC
DATE: 13 November 2010 (Veterans Day Weekend)
SUBJECT: Sponsorship Support for

Introduction
The Military Jeepers Jeep Club was established in December of 2007 and the membership consists of more than 4000 Jeep owners that are serving in or have served in a branch of the United States Military and own a Jeep product. Other officially attending clubs are not named yet but many of the individual membership will attend.

Purpose
The Fort Leonard Wood Chapter of Military Jeepers is coordinating the 2nd annual Toys for Tots Charity Drive 12-14 November 2010 hosted at Flat Nasty Off Road Park. www.Flatnasty.net
The intent of this event is to bring members of Military Jeepers along with local 4x4 Club support together for a weekend of off roading, comradeship, and family fun. This event will be open to the public it will host 4x4’s of all types and UTV, ATV as well.

Scope of Activities
Friday and Saturday morning attendees arrive at their convenience and setting up in the large campground. The TfT main event will begin 8:00am November 13th Saturday morning with a drivers meeting leading into the formal TfT guided trail ride. The attendees will be broken into groups depending on numbers and build level of jeeps. Each group will set out to follow the trail plan of their trail guide; attendees do not have to be in a group. Groups will stop for lunch on the trail around 12:00pm (choice of the group and leader). Guided trail rides continue until dinner, planned around 6:00pm all groups will meet at the Flat Nasty Cabin Office, select volunteers will begin cooking dinner around 5:00pm. Dinner on the night of 13 Nov will be a group dinner tickets will be sold for $6.00 each proceeds will cover food costs and remainder donated to TfT.
At dinner attendees will be issued a raffle ticket, and at the commencement of dinner if able we will hold “door prize raffles”. After Dinner, night rides for who wish to, for those not wishing to do the night ride they will begin their own campfire activities.

Dispersion of funds and donations:
There will be no money raised at this event for the club(s) involved other than to cover costs of items needed for set up that were not attained from sponsors. Any products donated by companies, individuals or otherwise will be distributed to attendees at the Saturday night dinner, either by raffle or drivers bag, door prize etc.. Raffle door prize tickets will be distributed to patrons as either one per family, one per vehicle or one per adult family member. Ticket and prize distribution will be dependent on the number of prizes available.

What are we asking from you?
What we are asking for is pretty simple; we need sponsorship in the form of raffle items and food. We need auto based prizes, 4x4 based prizes, and many jeep based prizes. We are asking for gift certificates from general distribution companies for purchase of any items you may offer. We will also accept certificates for “services” you business may offer but please keep in mind we have several members coming from far outside the area.

What do we have to offer?
Advertisement for you company, we have previously been seen in Petersen’s Off Road Magazine a couple times and the Ft. Leonard Wood Guidon newspaper. All sponsors who donate items will be recognized at the time of raffle by announcement and a photo of winner with prize showing company. For all sponsors we will have a sponsorship board posted with names, contact information sent to us, this will be displayed throughout the period of the weekend and if you have sent business cards, stickers etc we will have them present to hand out at random with your donation display.

Conclusion:
This is our 2nd annual Toys for Tots drive last year’s went very well. This has become an annual event and will grow with each year. With your help this event will be a huge success and we hope to build a continuing partnership to have return sponsorship. This is a great opportunity for your business to get your name out to the entire off road Community as well as well as support Toys for Tots. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and will continue to support us in future ventures.

You guys are doing great but I think a repeat of last years event at SMORR would be appropriate as well. By repeat, no extensive sponsorship, just bring a toy, get in, have marines there for representation, but this would be a 2nd annuel event and would continue repore with Brandon and the SMORR community

I talked to my Professor of Military Science today about my ROTC program participating in the event. We assigned a cadet to be the coordinator within the program and looks promissing to collect presents within the program to bring to the event. My PMS also said he thought it would be a great idea to take some of the cadets down there to mingle with the Military Veterans and ride alongs on the trails. Most likely will have to swing through Rolla on the day of the event and pick some of them up due to some not having vehicles. Making progress with it. MTF.

I will also have a seat, leaving Saturday morning. Link up Road Ranger 0600 for all that are leaving Saturday?

PolloLoco

I have an extra seat too. I have to go to Rolla to get E85 for my TJ, but I can meet at Road Ranger at 0600 if we can accommodate my fuel stop. I'll get my wife to make some good corn bread for the chili.

Link up 0600-0630 at Road Ranger for Jeepers/Marines convoy.
We have joining the convoy MATV and a couple Marines. I assured them that Jeeps with big tires dont go that fast either and it's no problem to convoy together.

MJ is escorting LOL just call FLWC the new Blackwater. (just pick your targets better)

Also I said we would feed whoever they bring, will have better list when Gunny gets back with me.

Awesome, the boy will get a kick out of that! Is the MATV a six or eight wheel vehicle? I drive max 65mph on the interstate.

I didn't know that Marine trucks were meeting at RR too. I'll just go to Rolla and probably encounter y'all on 72. I will still be bringing corn bread. Should three 9x13 pans be good?

Turned out good, Mid rivers jeep thing and MJ had a good time. The two Marine sergeants got to ride along in MJ members jeeps and wanted to tell everyone they had a great time. The M-ATV seemed to move up and down trail 4 without any effort, Andrea and I got to ride along in in it and it rode very well "caddy like", maybe 48" tires do it lol.

Started off with enough Jeeps for 3 groups and seemed all had a pretty good time, I broke and axle in about 2 hours on trail 7's "chute" then watched a MRJT Cherokee crawl right over it barely spinning a tire, "thanks man" lol. Ross and Patrick played recovery team for me since I was left AGAIN with only front wheel power.
A few jeeps were seen being towed and one axle shaft stuck up out of a rock pile like a warning to all who may dare enter at the end of trail 5 (cabin side).
Andrea and I stuck around camp and set up for the raffle and chilly dinner built a nice fire and had some BEER! sorry had some beer.

Group photo was pretty cool, we got the M-ATV in a profile in the center with toys stacked all over it, jeeps on both sides in a semicircle some of the jeeps stacked.
The the raffle went off good, BillyJK from mrjt and I decided if you brought a toy get one ticket for the general gift drawing, then later we gave them 4 more, we then sold $1.00 tickets after that raising $172 in cash for that. Gifts from Warn and Master Pull were the big ones, 2 winch kits from Warn http://www.warn.com/atv/accessories/ATV-WinchingAccessoryKit.shtml but ours had a chain also; and the Master Pull http://www.masterpull.com/ Super XD winch line and 2 super yanker ropes and a year pass for family to the park. Meanwhile the park was having a burger sale and also donated $50 to the TfT Thanks Ron and Sheila, they and their friends had also donated many toys collected from their day jobs. Well around 200 toys and $252.50 are going to TfT from those involved.
on a side note we thought someone donated a clutch plate it and had it set in the raffle prizes it turned out the clutch box had the corn bread in it for the chilly dinner LOL.

Special thanks to the Marines that gave a day off for the TfT event Spies and Worten, MRJT, MJ Members, Flat Nasty ORP, all those who came and donated from Kansas City, and everyone else who found their way to a good cause.

so when are the rockwells getting built for the TJ Larry?

Can't complain really you managed to break a 30 year old piece of metal 4 times now, 2 from the 60, 2 from the 44.

Ghost00TJ
11-08-2010, 08:18
Yea they are all replaced now, however, the one 60 axle is a junkyard replacement so it could very well be 30 yrs old also. (thats my excuse for next time) We did with some major manipulation get the CM shaft put in the 60...so shinny oooOOO
