I am in Gardnerville, about a hour north on 395 from bridgeport. A couple of us are gettting ready to run a trail just south of Gardnerville. Its a more mild trail that follows the river and in the middle is a hot springs we will camp at but the camping is still in the air.
Google "Barney Riley trail" and you can see what it is about.
If you decide to come up give me a call, 775-781-1296 Josh. There are a ton of trails around here and alot of events going on.

I tried to convince the TAD lady that my Jeep doubled as an extract vehicle, but since the persons attending the training are not yet fully in the military, I have to get a rental econobox in Reno and drive down from there.

Right on! I like that idea.
I was stationed there in the mid 80's. I was an Instructor and was the SNCOIC of the Animal Pack Program. Great wheeling all over up there ! Pickle Medows, the Con is not too far from there.
I would be stoked to wheel around bridgeport (did some wheeling around hawthorne and loved it), but i don't trust my brakes enough to brave the sonora pass. Maybe when i get some bigger and better brakes.... which will happen when i upgrade axles... which will happen when hell freezes over...

Well, I am back! Had an absolute blast! There ended up being 250 Midn to look after, but no heinously terrible incidents. A metric arse ton of blisters because they don't know how to break boots in yet, but it was fun. I will throw some pics up later on today or tomorrow. Josh (NVCrawler) I was in Gardnerville on the 4th of July to take a kid to the hospital you have there but I figured you would be out and about enjoying the day, so I will call another time.
i was just checking in on the pacific region part of the forum to ask this same question... i was just in bridgeport/hawthorne in june and figured there must be some decent wheeling in the area. all the wheeling i got to do was HMMWV style. (which can be quite nerve racking when you're driving through a field of UXO on hawthorne)
