The wife and I were thinking it's been a long time since we've been there and a camping trip would be fun. We're looking at Saturday July 30 to Sunday August 1. We would camp off of one of the trails because it's free and I'm cheap. There's fire rings all over the place. You will need a trail pass from the outpost, a nearby gas station, it's $5 for a day or $30 annually. The outpost is a great little shop, they'll probably have anything you may forget, free air for tires, they've got some small hardware too, oh, and cheap gas:D Chime in if you want to go or have questions, comments, obscene gestures...

I'm in. I have camping property at lake Tillery 15 min away from the trails.I can't make it up Daniel with my open axles but ill do what I can. I would like to see everyone come out. Even if stock rigs show up that's fine too. I will lead them on the easy and moderate trails.

Alright, we got one! Are you planning on camping with us or at your property? I'd like to camp at a nice big group area off of 597 (I think that's the road, it's the main road to arrowhead and badin lake). That way stockers (drew's truck) wont have any issues. If anybody else is interested I *might* bring our kayaks and fishing gear. If there's no interest or people don't have boats of their own then I won't. I have a big canoe and paddles that anyone is more than welcome to pick up and get on the water for some fishing or just paddling.

we have been wanting to do this, but my brother is coming into town on that Saturday. We tried to get him to change his plans, but he already put in for it at work and everything. We'll have to do it again!

Yes, of course she has her own little people life jacket, it has a crotch strap too, to make sure it doesn't fly up and over. It wasn't me you saw, although that description fits me to the T, I do have a yellow Rubi and a green canoe! That's so funny I have a twin out there! How bazzar! (you're welcome Drew) I'm not sure when we'll be there, I'd like to leave about 9ish, so we'll probably leave at noon. I want to camp off of one of the gravel roads because we'll have Drew's truck. There's a big area to camp off of 597, the first gravel road you get on after turning right off the hard ball by the hunt camp. If that doesn't work, I'm pretty sure the hunt camp is free too. My phone number is eight oh eight 772 three four 97, my wife has the same area code, 277 eight 0 five 8, my name's Eric, her's is Erin (I know, we're gay). Our cell service out there is shotty at best. If it really comes down to it, you could cruise the gravel and hunt us down! Yellow Rubi, White YJ, Silver GMC Pickup.

Sorry I couldn't make this trip, but I'm down for one in the future. My XJ is coming along faster than I expected now that I'm getting the new tires next week. I still have to take it easy, but testing it next weekend at the dumps will either give me more confidence in it or have me wrenching on it in the driveway some more :D

Are you guys just camping in tents? I went up to URE last August with just my 7 year old son and the tent was MISERABLE in the 90+ degree heat. That's all we have though, so we just suck it up. I don't know how much my wife and 6 year old daughter would dig it though. We stayed right there at Baddin Lake. It was nice. We got up there in the evening and hit the two easier trails, but my son got tired and lost interest in wheeling, so the rest of the weekend we just hiked around, played in the water, made some spears, and played with fire. It was a good time.

Do any of you other guys have kids that you would be taking on trips up to URE? I wouldn't want to be the only one dragging rugrats along.

Matt, we camped in tents, I'm not *OLD* enough to have a trailer or anything like like that. I went up there a few weeks ago with just another buddy and I slept on a hammock in my bivy cover, it rained during the night and I didn't even know about it til morning! We bring our two year old pretty much everywhere we go, she doesn't mind the tent at all. This weekend was nice and mild, we even wore long pants Sunday. I brought my wubby instead of a sleeping bag. We stayed at an open area off of road 576, it's free!

We had a super time, Bagpiper wheeled with us Saturday. He has a CB too, everybody that doesn't have one must get one ASAP, or suffer the consequences!! It's so nice to be able to talk on-the-go, rather than stopping to discuss things, relay an issue, or just BS. I've had mine installed for a while and this is the first chance I've had to use it.

Jesse, sorry we couldn't make it out to you're place. We just woke up, ate, baby napped, we packed, hit a trail, and headed home.

And now for some pictures. I'm sure you'll all be jealous!

I'll get some video's on here if Drew doesn't beat me to it. He took tons of video! I hope next time we can get more people out there, we had a blast. It rained a little Saturday night, but we had a nice little hobo shelter set up with a big tarp.

Eric, It looks like you guys had a f'n BLAST! I'm definitely tagging along next time. Oh, and do you really need to be "old" to have a camper? If so, then I'm not old enough either. I'm down with tent camping and free is always good. I just stayed at Badin Lake the last time, because it was hotter than shit and I knew my son and I would want to have some water close by to cool off in. It was cool just being the two of us, but it was a bit boring at times too and the boy didn't want to wheel. If more people were there I think he'd dig it more. We only did wolf's den and the other easy one. All of the other ones made me nervous, because I didn't know what they were like and I was by myself.

What did you have to fix on the YJ? I have to get a tool box for the HEEP. I KNOW I'm going to be breaking shit on the trails.

What did you have to fix on the YJ?

The same thing that happened to mine a few weeks ago. This time it was the passenger front brake that seized up. The caliper locked up and it would dart to left when the brakes were applied. There's an Advanced auto in Troy.

We camped at Arrowhead the first time we went out there. It's a nice campground. My buddy and I camped at Badin lake the last time I was there. It was also really nice, and there was a short trail leading to the water so we could leave the Jon boat there instead of going to the boat launch everyday.

that looks AWESOME! You're my hero Eric. Who's dog is running around in the back. I wish my dogs would listen well enough to take them along, but they would just take off after a f'n rabbit or something and be gone.
