I'm considering making my own, cause I found a place that I can get 50' for 20 bucks. Any pointers on connection points to the roll bar? The netting is 1" wide and is 3800 lbs tested.
Well, I was looking at netting to keep my kid's hands inside the vehicle should something bad happen on the trail. I found this site. Their products are pretty expensive, but the photos give you some really good ideas of mounting points and methods.

Good idea.
i know. /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I was going to make my own. I even found the little strap hooks that they use on boats that I was going to put on the inside edge of the tub so that the netting would mount to the tub and still look good.

What were you gonna sew it with? I was gonna look for some nylon thread. Where did you find these strap hooks. If you want, we can come together on this after I make mine (once again I'll be the guinea pig) and see if it's worth doing.
I was going to buy pick up truck netting and just cut out the shape I needed.
Marine Strap Fasteners are cheap and work:
google shopping search (http://www.google.com/products?q=marine+strap+fastener&btnG=Search+Products&show=dd&scoring=p&sa=N&lnk=next&start=10)
Also different stuff, but it is out there..

I was considering that, but I didn't find any I liked. At least with the way I was going, it's not as wasteful, and I can probably come up with some of my own little things with it.

What did you search to find those rings? I'm gonna look at home depot for them tomorrow. Gonna search for a local area that I can go buy the nylon strapping for. I want this to be a cheap, time consuming process so that I don't keep buying dumb stuff cause I'm bored.
Home Depot has a nice selection of small hooks and stuff. I would check a craft store like Michaels to see what they have. Maybe even check a fabric store. You may even be better off hitting the dollar store and picking up a bunch of cheap dog collars (for large dogs) and use the D rings and clasps off of those.

I was trying to search "textile stores" and similar terms, but dumb stuff was coming up. Maybe I'll run to Michael's tomorrow. I'm thinking of buying a roll of the nylon strapping (still looking for a walk in store) and measuring and cutting it to the lengths I want. Gonna connect it with safety pins at cross points, drag it up to my in-laws and sew it with some super durable thread. Still researching it. Inexpensive and time consuming, so it seems right up my alley.

Quick question... Why do you guys need nets for? That's what seat belts are for.
I am not doing it, I just thought about it when I was bored at work. I also thought about mounting a mock M-60 to the top of my jeep and that did not happen. He carries his dog with him and may not want it to jump out or fall out.

My dog. Last Monday we went with the windows out and I was carrying my old half windows because I bought those sliders. He kept jumping up on top of them in the back and I was worried he was gonna fall out. I'm not gonna make my jeep into a net ball, just the back windows and above the tailgate. Dog doesn't look like dog anymore after 60 mph on the freeway.

To protect the dog from falling out... Makes perfect sense... /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Ryan, I can see you adding an M60 on your jeep /images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif LOL.....
