So i did have a small trip to hope mills planned to wheel tonight but one thing led to another and now I can't get ahold of anyone to go. Anyone down? Preferably someone with some knowledge of "the pit". Let me know!

Hey thanks keith, sorry I didn't get your message til just now. "the pit" is off of bretton woods drive in hope mills. Best bet is to google maps the street. Basically it ends and you enter next to a house (at least this is the way I know to get in). There are quite trails and rutted out areas to have fun. Not too sure of the legality or who owns it, but i have seen a ton of people back there and the trails are very well developed. Not sure about this either, but I think that is where the weird-fest is gonna be.

I got stuck pretty good twice, once had water halfway up my engine block. Luckily my buddy has a winch and had me out in a couple minutes. Glad I didnt drain and fill the differentials, cause they are definitely gonna need it now. Sorry I didn't get anyones emails about coming along, I turned off my email service to my blackberry because it was getting annoying. Emails are back up now though. We are heading out there tomorrow some time as well, pm me or reply to the post if you are interested.

Its open to whoever. No idea who owns it. There are no signs to suggest your not supposed to be there. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. There does tend to be some shady people there, so I might carry if I were you. Or at least go with a couple people. Whatever you do, if you get stuck, don't leave your shit there overnight.
