Had so much fun freezing my balls off last year that I'm doing it again. Who's down? I'm looking to go over New Years.

I want to ring in the New Year from a snowy camp fire so the dates I'm looking at are 27DEC10-02JAN11. Lemme know if you're down.

As of right now I'm out of town till the 23rd, then working through the 30th. I'll have to wait and see what my schedule is for Jan and see if I can't manage a few more days off. I'll keep you updated. I'll try to make it up there even if it's for a night or two.

i am in! ALWAYS for a gwnf trip. for those brothers and sisters interested,I have a family farm in luray Va. Which,is just minutes away from the Edinburgh,taskers gap trail head.have plenty of "civilian" jeeper friends for support should we "break" anything. I GREW UP running these trails. Always up for a camp trip. Contact me and let me know how many,dates,etc.

ever been to "big boyz playground" in harrisonburg,va.? might be a fun lil "side trip" to plan with it. ??

it is a privately owned offroad park.It has mud trails rocks.Nothing overly spectacular but an ok place to "play". The have a website as well. Big boys playground.com . These people are very off road pro-active and there is primitive camping available upon prior registration. Would be a great place to have a meet/greet,public mixer,etc. Check it out.

It would depend on cost. My whole point for this trip is to be changing campsites every night to something new and exploring.

That place sounds like a good weekend mixer spot.

man I would LOVE to ride up with u guys but THIS wknd is a no go for me. I'm realisticly looking at the first wknd in november as far as being able to "get away". Too much work and not enuff play so far this year. And heat season is fast approaching,gotta get everyone's boilers ready. Lately seems like EVERYONE"S water heaters are crappin out. On your way back down I-95,gimme a shout on my cell and we can do lunch/dinner in the Edgewood area and I will "properly" introduce" myself. You guys have a safe trip though.

If you head up there with Chris, make sure he's unarmed, don't let him run off into the woods with a hatchet to kill the invading army of houses, and be careful of the bottom of 2nd mountain.... last year it was nothing but an ice covered rock slide.

I'm going to be doing a combination of moving like a gypsy and playing. I did not get chains on the tires and did not learn any hard lessons last year. The CJ just plugged right along quite well with no serious issues. Granted, we really didn't do anything technical as we spent more time looking for firewood so we wouldn't freeze to death.

As to the 5 w's, it will be 100% dependent on me getting new tires. No tires= no technical wheeling. It'll just turn into me taking my truck and exploring the back roads.

BTW I was just at the rock ledge area of Ditchum........did it last year, tried it this year.......with snow and ice it would be a recovery fiasco.

I also mounted my water jug inside the cab of my cj now, so it should be good. or not, we'll find out.

Trip is scrapped from my end. Lack of interest for the dates I have available and I'm not looking to go out unequipped and alone.

Instead I'll be helping truetilbill drive his TJ from DE to Benning for IOBC.
