View Full Version : Fort Drum Jeepers
where you at?
Got to Drum last week, been driving around post and I've seen lots of Jeepers but, I must admit I haven't seen a single MJ sticker. sad really
so where you at?
I was thinking once I get settled into quarters, I thought if there was interest I would starting a Fort Drum Chapter

Hey, Grevus! I'm frenchdragon, just a newbie but I live in Manlius, just east of Syracuse. I would love to meet & talk. (I think the word is Bullshit!) That is if you can stand talking to an ex-Navy airdale. Maybe we could start something.

Hey Medicbear, sounds like you've been around the services quite a bit! Please stay dedicated. We need guys like you. It takes a special kind of person to be there for the wounded. I know because my wife was in nursing for 30 years. Was your Navy service with the Marines?
Hey I just got back a few weeks ago, and I noticed there are a ton of Jeeps in the AO. I am not a hard core wheeler or anything, just don't trust my Jeep not to break down, but I do like some off roading. Is anyone still in the area, or were you all 3rd BDE and gone now?

I am deploying soon, still looking to start a club here too, got a few buddies that have Jeeps that would love to start a Jeep club.
I think a Ft. Drum chapter is a great idea. I think if we get the word out, post flyers around post we'd have the numbers in no time.

lol. I also see alot of Jeepers on drum. I'm with 2-87 IN. 88 blue wrangler. I should buy me a sticker! I'm down for the Drum chapter;)
Maybe we all can figure out a day we all can meet and get this chapter going. I should have my stickers anyday now. Anyone planning on going to Quadratecs tent sale and show and shine?

Hey Drum Jeepers..Do we want to meet lets say the commons or PX parking lot sometime before the snow sticks. If we can pick a date/ time/ and place..I'm down
How about one day this week during lunch at the PX parking lot? After that I wont be around for a couple weeks.
Dont forget about Quadratecs tent sale/jeep show and shine this Sat in West Chester, PA.
37649I made up an idea for a Drum chapter, lemme know what you all think. 37650I also used a fellow jeepers idea and added camo to it. I ordered some stickers to see how they turn out.

NICE Lava..I like them both.
We need to get a meet and greet going and get the numbers for a Drum chapter.
Hey if you guys come up with a time and place I will try to be there. I have a hard time getting away from work, even during lunch, but I will try.
I think we should have Friday off, or at least I do. What does everyone else think?

I have friday off also. Thinks it's a Drum thing. love them 4 days
Somewhere on friday for lunch, we could do on or off post.
I have a buddy redeploying Friday so I will have to see.
Hi, name's Dan, I'm new to the Jeep world, been on Drum about 2 years. Would like to meet up whenever u guys plan to get together. I'm in wlc right now and will want to have some fun once I finish school. I have a 95 wrangler Rio grande 4" RC on 31's.

anyone for a mud session this weekend? last weekend here before I deploy, would love one more run this year! can meet up at px Sunday, just need a good spot to hit up let me know a good time!!!!
I don't think a Ft Drum chapter is ever going to kick off. I don't think anyone has the free time to dedicate to it. I know I don't.
Saw a four door JK cruising down 81 today at about 0945. I think he got mad at me because I was trying to get close enough to see if those were MJ stickers in the back window and I was in my F150 cruising along side of him. So is there any interest in just making a meetup place and seeing who shows up? I will be in the field next week and weekend, but most days after that I am good in the evening.
I think it a great idea. Meeting places on and off post would be good. I'd say the sooner we could get a monthly met and greet going, we should should have some good numbers before spring.

Tell me when and where. I'm on Rear-D so basically I'm good.
We could do Friday afternoon, or Saturday whenever. As long as its after work or the weekend.
I am in the field right now, hut how about the Friday after Thanksgiving. We should all be off and we can just meet up in the afternoon. If someone knows of a good coffee shop or something. I am thinking somewhere in Watertown that way it is central for most of us. I am not a huge Starbucks guy but worst case scenario. Let me know what you guys think and we will just pick a location.
I guess we just need to figure out a time for Friday.
I don't think we are going to get many today, being that it is Friday morning now and no one has answered this thread in a week and a half.
I wonder if we could generate some interest through MWR and/or the post newspaper? I know theres interested parties but I think its just making them away MJ.
Well today I will be working on my Jeep, again. I replaced the thermostat with a high temp thermostat during the summer and now my engine won't warm up enough for the heater to work so I have to replace it again. It's always something. I haven't seen anything on this thread from anyone else in a while. Maybe we need to pick a time and a place a few weeks out and then post it on here, Wrangler Forum and a few other forums. People will start block leave in about 2 1/2 weeks so maybe in January.
me and my buddy have been going out on Sundays to go mudding around here, if anyone is interested, hit me up. We don't do anything extreme, but we don't have alot of time left before the snow.
We need to get this chapter rollin.

This worked for us afew years back in Drum, afew of us went rolling around and started sticking meet and greet papers on every jeep we saw in and around drum, we had a good number of people at the time.... but its hit and miss cuz you have people who just driving a mod wrangler for show these days, which was annoying to say the least.. but I wish you guys the best of luck on getting a chapter started, you should try more than just this forum also, with all the new JK guys I know they hang around the jk-forum.com , jkowners.com / pirate4x4.com, jeepforum.com etc ... and be open the CIV guys in the area theres already clubs out there such as Team extreme and jeep extreme (Jefferson County area)... also if your up for the challenge get in contact with cny jeepers good group of people..41022

I would enjoy meeting up with fellow military jeepers in the Fort Drum area. I am still waiting for my stickers to come in. If you see a 2012 two door Wrangler Sport, deep cherry red, color of burgundy or merlot wine, leave me a note. I am a retired AF dude.
