Ok so I have a weird situation due strictly to lack of 4wd experience and doing everything alone. I pulled off the t-case today to replace some gaskets. As i was separating the t-case I got to yanking on it before realizing that I needed to remove the overdrive cover and pull the output shaft nut from the tranny. well, that being said, as i was yanking I managed to pull it out about a half inch. After getting it out the proper way, when I go to reinstall it, I cant get it to sit flush against the transmission. What could I have done???? I cant get the shifter to move or pull the clutch cable. Any ideas?

i am not sure i fully understand what you unbolted that allowed you to remove the t-case but it sounds like you may have pulled the output shaft of the transmission out about 1/2 inch. I have a rebuild article in one of my many jeep mags that i think was the dana 18. lemme look around when i get home tonight and i will bang around the web to see if i can find a dig copy of it an i pass it along to ya.

its a t90... the problem was that all the roller bearinf fell out. I will figure it all out on monday when I get back to the hobby shop. I am thinking of just rebuilding the tranny anyhow.

thanks for the idea on the rebuild article... I went and found one for the tranny and tcase. Once I get it all back together I will know if i did it right, however movement is TONS smoother shifting and in and out of 4wd hi/lo on the twin sick. Feels really solid now. Cant wait to get it all back together.
