When I turn my wheel left and right there is a slight clunk. I checked all the bolts, rods and all that shebang. Any ideas?
You got long arms if so what brand? I have the same issue with mine. I am going to replace the bushings in the uppers and lower because they seem to be worn out.
I have the Rustys LA and I have read allot about the threads on the adjustable get messed up and have to be replaced I am crossing my fingers that isnt it

I have the Rustys 4.5 but I have the short arm. I wish I had the long arm. I think it's my discos because they have the cotter pin in the release. Idk if that's it. Maybe my steering is loose. I hope not! I need to upgrade to poly bushings though I know that. My sway bar bushings look in need of repair. Thank god for clothing alowance! I also have the 2" spacers for the front but need rear shackles. Anyone have any for the rear. I'll trade parts. I have steering pumps, water pumps, driveshafts and an air tank from a semi that I was going to use for on board air.

Not sure what year your jeep is, but you might want to make sure that the 4wheel drive is not still engaged. If it is it will make a clunking noise when you turn. Just a thought. You might want to check your track bar that will do it too. Wilson

Ryan had a clunk when turning left and right because his bolts weren't torqued to spec on the trac bar. It was too tight.

It just seems loose in the front when I turn the wheel left and right. Idk. I'm gonna see if it's the track bar but I checked it out the other day. It seemed ok and I tightened them back down. I'll take a look.

Right, but were they torqued to spec? The company should have the proper setting. If you have loose steering it could be a number of things too. When I replaced my ball joints and TREs my steering tightened up exponentially.

Well I got under there and tried to tighten the track bar where it bolts on and the MFin bolt just free spins and won't turn. So I WD 40ed that mofo and nada. Also the bushing is blown out. Yay. Any ideas? I was thinking a 12 pack, swearing and a hammer.

Track bar.
Have someone shake your steering wheel back and forth while you look at both ends, I will almost guarantee that your axle side track bar is moving.

I had my wife shake the wheel while I was feeling up the Heep. It just seems like it's loose and needs some special attention.

If you let me know what year your jeep is I might have a decent used track bar around here for you. I have never seen a track bar that is over tightened, but a lose one will cause you major problems. The best way to check it, is to crank it up and have someone bump the steering back and forth if it moves close to the bolts its a problem. If you have time this week and want to stop by the shop we can check it for you for free. Wilson

Thanks Keith! It's Wilson's going out of their way to take care of customers (or FUTURE customers) that keeps me recommending your shop when guys ask where to go to get lift, gears, etc.

Check the hole the bolt goes through. Sometimes when the bolt starts to loosen and it wiggles around in the hole, it wallows it out a bit. No matter how much you tighten it, the hole is larger than the bolt and there will be slop.

I'll wait till this weekend. Hopefully the rain will stop
**** this rain... my doors have been off all week. I keep waiting for the sun to come out long enough to help dry the Heep out, but doesn't look like that's going to happen by the time I have to go to work tonight. poop
