Moab Next Week

We are heading to Moab Sunday for a week of wheeling with Cascade 4x4's of Tacoma, WA which is the group I wheeled with while I was up at Joint Base Lewis-McChord...other than a few thunderstorms in the forecast the weather should be great, not to hot, not to cold and with any luck none of us will have any major breakage :)

Last week was a blast...we did Fins and Things and then Poison Spider on Monday. Gold Bar Rim and Moab Rim on Tuesday and then Hells Revenge and Potato Salad Hill on Wednesday. Then about half of us headed to the Moab Brewery for dinner and the had core folks did another trail...I had to leave on Thursday, but I received no email of any trail damage or breakdowns, so I am hoping all went well. Erin loved it, Stephanie was a little nervous in a couple spot of Gold bar and chose to take Erin out and walk...they went to Canyonlands National Park on Wednesday so they weren't with me when I did Hell's Gate the Bathtub, Tip Over Challenge and Potato Salad Hill, which may have been a good thing...I did not do the Escalator (obstacle on Hells Revenge) as I was sure I would have popped a bead, shreaded a tire/wheel and done some body damage if I slipped off the verticla side wall that you need to have your right tires on to make it. Rained each afternoon, but that kept the dust down and made the trails more fun...
