Things to move us ahead....

Here's what I was thinking... We need to start 2, maybe 3 things this week:

1. Either a Flickr or photobucket account and share access to those that are deemed worthy of using it. I will start it up just let me know which one is easier to use, can upload more at once, is video possible, etc....

2. If neither of those does video, perhaps we need to start a FBMJ youtube site because I know there are a lot of great videos out there....

3. Does anyone think a FBMJ Facebook account would be useful? BAgpiper and I talked about it and it went by the wayside... It may be easier to plan weekend outings and such. Less leg work and texting. 1 Page to tag on... It's hard to track on who's doing what in the forums.

Mainly I am trying to look for ways to mainstream this process and make it more convenient to make this thing work. It's way easier to put pics and videos in one place than on everyone's individual stuff... Let me know what you think on this one.

I'm not a big FB fan, but it definately has it's atvantages. Much easier to plan stuff and disseminate info out to everyone.

I think it's a good idea. I have 0 experience with any photosharing site, so I can't offer much there. I do think a FBMJ Facebook page is a good idea though. I maintain my recruiting station's page and it's super easy to do. Also, if you have over 100 fans you can have a vanity URL ie: Facebook.com/FMBJ of Facebook.com/GetWeird although, that second one is probably taken. The nice thing about FB is that you can upload photo/video, post events, have discussions and just generaly be creepy and stalk people. If we decide to do this I can help get it going. Also, what about coming up with a logo? I know we talked about it before, but nothing ever really came of it.

Check out Picasa. It's by Google and I'm pretty sure it does video. Google (Skynet) is taking over the world, so we might as well get on board.

I used to be an avid photobucket user when I had my own small time photo/video website they used to allow unlimited space for photos/videos but now they limit each account. As most of y'all know I am a pretty geeky guy so I could easily run a Facebook twitter YouTube etc.

yeah we set a FB page up for the FT Campbell chapter up here it does help when sharing photos and tracking people who do a lot of stuff off their cellphones. eliminates the need to be around a actual computer to see whats going on.

and as a IT guy i will confirm SKynet is taking over LoL

Well, flickr was the thought, but you can only upload a limited amount each month unless we spend $24 a year to upgrade. I don't mind covering this for a while, but eventually.... I will work on getting this set up, but I am also going to look into Picasa before I make a final decision, I think. Unless anyone has anything else to offer, here. As far as a Facebook page is concerned, if someone wants to set this up, please post your intent. We only need one, so let's try and get this thing rolling.
