DOD Identifies Marine Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Lance Cpl. William H. Crouse IV, 22, of Woodruff, S.C., died Dec. 21 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
LCpl William H. 'Billy' Crouse, IV, USMC
LCpl William H. 'Billy' Crouse, IV, USMC was Killed In Action on 21 DEC along with his K9 officer Cane when he was attacked with an improvised explosive device.
Family notification occurred last evening. The Patriot Guard has been invited by LCpl Crouse' Mother and sister to participate in his services in Ft Wayne Indiana.
LCpl Crouse grew up in Laurens County, South Carolina. His father (now deceased) moved here from Indiana in the 1990's. Bill Crouse died prior to the LCpl's deployment.
Billy Crouse played football for the Clinton High School (SC) Red Devils and started as fullback during his senior year in 2006. He will be returned to his native state of Indiana for burial.
