Anyone in Idaho and Utah, I need your help. I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. 4.7l V8. My front driveshaft/propshaft has gone bad. I'm looking for some local junkyards that have some jeeps in them. I'm trying to convert my jeep from the cv style to the u-joint style so i'm looking for a few parts and they are:

Front axle yoke: D30 yoke straps and bolts (Any 27 spline dana 30 yoke)

Drive Shaft: u-joint style both ends (From any 02-04 grand (WJ)) but has to be V8 for proper length

And Transfer case front output yoke: has to be 32 spline from a 247 or 242 transfercase. 01 grands they are common.

Anyone know of good junkyards that I can visit? Any info will be great

I would stop by Vorfab and ask him. He is on Air Base right across the road from Discount Muffler

the only 2 junk yards in mountain home are borger matson (sp), and the one out towards the sinclairs heading out on sunset strip towards burger king. i am not sure if they have any jeeps though. i would also check out the two local clubs, wildwest offroad, and idaho 4x4 club, check out their forums, they might be able to help you find something also.

sending pm.

Yea I've heard about him. I actually stopped by his place a few weeks ago to ask him about building a swing away tire carrier/mount for me. He seems like a real good guy.

Yea neither of the junk yards in Mt. Home had any grand cherokees. However I have already swapped the part for a new but used drive shaft and yokes. It's in already and running great. Just have to get out on the trails to try it out.

Thanks for the input guys.

wow , didn't realize that your original post was from the beginning of january. i should check on here more often !

glad you were able to get everything put together and running smoothly.

once the weather warms up more, and we are done with these inspections, we'll have to go put all those new parts through their paces.
