The 4405 “land-use buggy” races for access at the famed King of the Hammers race.
Driver Travis Carpenter asks people to “Pledge per mile made”

For the second year in a row, Rock Zombie 4x4 club member Travis Carpenter of the 4405 “land-use” team is racing in the famed King of the Hammers off-road race on February 11th to generate funds for land-use. Held by HammerKing Productions (www.kingofthehammers.com (http://www.kingofthehammers.com/)) and billed as the toughest off-road competition in the United States, the King of the Hammers is a mix of desert racing and hardcore rock crawling. The grueling 120 mile long course is split into two laps, and many competitors are not even able to finish the race. In only its 5th year, attendance at the race is expected to draw well over 30,000 people to the southern California desert.

TIN BENDERS & 4Wheel Parts Race-a-thon Results

As many of you know for the second year in a row the TINBENDERS and 4Wheel Parts have been involved in the KOH race-a-thon.

The club pledged $10 per mile completed for each car our members were involved in, six cars.

Greg Adler, the prez of 4Wheel Parts, generously matched our contribution again

Here's how we scored:

desertoy and Air Ride finished 23rd in the Marlin Crawler X-Chassis..$1200

Brent and Tin Bender crossed the line 30 minutes after the time limit in the 4473 car, I'm calling it a finish..$1200

Even though Dave rented his car out to some flat-billers, it's still a TINBENDER owned car, they finished..$1200

Hobie completed 65 miles, for the first time he didn't finish..$650

Me and Aaronn went 44 miles before busting an oil pan..$440

Mike Stowe and ape eaters completed 43 miles before losing the input shaft in the "In the Pink" F-Toy..$430

That totals $5090 with another $5090 from 4Wheel Parts make a grand total donation to BRC of $10,180

Very cool what the Tinbenders and 4Wheel Parts did to help Land Use and Access.
Even if you do not shop at 4Wheel Parts, please take the time to thank them for their generous donation to BRC.
