Well Im buying an XJ to have as my DD while I build up my LJ. I have a guy holding it for me, and told him Id have the money for him today. Well that was all fine a dandy, but the guy that is supposed to buy my transfer case backed out, so Im a few hundred short. I am waiting on several transactions to transfer from Paypal into my bank account which wont be until Monday. So I am gonna sell my tires, since Im going to put 42s on my LJ anyways. If you have a decent used set of 33s and a little bit of money, I would consider trading. They are 35x12.50x15 Goodyear MTR w/ kevlar mounted on black rock 9500 lobos. They literally only about 500 miles on them. I have 5 wheels/tires.

X2

If Sebek can't get em I'll be next in line. I've got pretty good 33's I can throw at ya, probably got 10k on them and 60-70% tread. Although some tread blocks are missing from the rears. And my spare is a 31.

Well depending on the condition of the 33s I was hoping to get another $300

Mine! Lol

Mike and Eric, I just re-read this thread and it looks like I jumped you in line....that's not what actually happened. Skyler and I were talking about these along with some other stuff he's selling for a few days, and we just worked out a deal on everything.

Hey John... what do you have on the Jeep now and what are you doing with them? I wouldn't want the rims... just the tires maybe. I want to put bigger tires on the Durango. U was going to wait a bit until these were worn out, but it turns out that two of them already need replaced. One of them has a plug on the f'n sidewall..... NICE!

I don't think that's safe?

I don't think that's safe?

you THINK!

Yeah, it's on the inside sidewall, so I didn't see it until I popped the tire off to change out the pads. I saw it sticking out and my jaw about hit the floor. The tire needs replaced anyway. I need to look up how you rotate those tires, because right now it has two newer tires onthe driver's side and then passenger side has the two old worn out ones. I thought that was weird.

sounds like something from NASCAR..... just change the outside tires...lol

XJMATT
01-08-2011, 22:30
Yeah.... I was confused....

I didn't realize I was going to have to put tires on so soon, so the question is do I just replace the two old ones or do I go for 4 new ones and go a bit bigger. Stock on there are 235's. I think I could slap some 31's on there with no issues.... no lift......maybe 32's :D I'd just go with AT's though... nothing aggresive.

yeah sorry guys John got the tires and lift so his green Jeep is gonna be a bad mofo!

what size tires are on the green Jeep now and do they have much life left?

Rubitron
01-08-2011, 23:52
Hey Matt, I've got the four tires I pulled from the Rubi still. Stock size, I think it's 245/65-16. Anyway they're 31's, regular street tires, tons of life left.

They are 33s and have lots of life left in the, however they are going to be going on my xj. Matt, you dont by chance know what size the bolts are on the starter on an xj do you? I have to replace the starter on this Jeep and dont feel like dragging my whole tool box out there to his house.

Ah, I was hoping they were 31's so I could get them mounted on the Durango. I think 33's might be a bit too tall to fit. Maybe I can pick up a cheap 2-3" lift and fit them on there. Do you know what type of tires they are? I don't want anything too aggresive.

I can't remember off the top of my head what size the bolts are. I can go look though.... When are you going out to pull the starter?

The tires are Maxxis Buckshots. I am going to swap the starter tomorrow after work. And I just heard on the radio that its supposed to snow tomorrow. That will be fun changing it in the snow haha

Did you see my post above?

No, I didn't... Hit me up on my cell and let me know how much you want for them. Has anyone on here ever mounted tires yourself? I wouldn't mind giving it a shot t avoid the cost for a shop to do it. I need to get it done soon though, because that plug on the sidewall is just scary :(

I used to be a tire guy... however I have never mounted them without the machine. When I was at Rucker the autocraft shop had mounters and balancers for use, or they would do it for you for 5 bucks a tire. I'm not sure about the one here though, but if the have the equipment I can do it for you.

I've used the one on Pope. Easy, and it'll cost just a few bucks. Bring weights with you though. If we're free at the same time I can help you. The guys at the shop are ok, and helpful-ish

XJMATT
01-10-2011, 11:09
I say we try and do that then. Do they have weights at most parts stores? I'll pick them up and then can meet whoever at the Pope shop on whatever day works for you guys. I don't think I can use the shop with my contractor id card, so I'll need one of you there anyway.

I have at least a 3 day this weekend, possibly a 4 day, so let me know when you go. I don't know where the one on Pope is though.

I don't either. I work Mon, Tues, Fri-Sun this week, but I'm back on the night shift (1900-0700), so I can just skip sleep and go do it any day. If this week doesn't work I only work Wed-Thur next week.

I'm flexible, so Eric and Nick just let me know what works for you guys.
