I did this mod a while back and was real easy to do. Add as many layers as you can. Driver side floor board has started to come off, along with under the rear seat from when I take it out and put stuff back there. Over all awesome addition, but sometimes I wonder if I should have used line x, or rhino liner. Then again I couldnt beat the price. Good luck with it, makes it a whole lot easier to clean the interior.

I used the herculiner. Don't be a cheap ass and get the cheaper stuff that is available. Think of this as oe of those "buy nice or buy twice" situations. I saw someone that used a brand that was cheaper than the herc and it is not staying on the vehicle. I know he did the prep work right, but the stuff is just not tough enough.

Go with the herc or better if you can. Spend the couple of bucks to get the Husky Molded Floor Liners for the front and you won't have to worry about rubbing the herc off over time.

You know the prep work sucks, but do it right so it stays. I know someone else here that will be doing herc soon also after the last ride.

Ya know, I really surprised that no one has mentioned the infamous thread from the Pirate 4X4 board.

You know, the Heruculiner on the Hootis thread:D
I did a google on it, but it has seemingly moved into the realm of Urban Legend!

So, in this spirit, just keep it off your hootis...

It is from Explorer Forum [read it (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=18595&pagenumber=1)] and if someone was dumb enough to get that herculiner on their hootus, then they probably deserved it and that was someone's way of saying "hey, this guy should not really reproduce and I am going to help make that happen".

It's all in the prep work, the more effort you put into it, the better it will look and the longer it will last. I did this (herculiner) in my old full size mud truck, I put three coats on the floor boards and high wear areas and two coats everywhere else. Never peeled and never rubbed off. Great stuff and good luck.

The Herculiner thread is one that just won't die off!

I'm thinking about removing the carpet from the Better Half's XJ, and replacing it with Herculiner. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

It may be time that Herculiner threads stay in the tech section.
