2003 Rubi....outside door handles on full doors need replacing badly, i think the previous owner painted over the rust....i have the new door handles, got the door panel and the door seal out of the way. How do i get the old one out of the freakin door? There are clips holding it in there, I can see those, but is there a trick to getting it off? Hoping someone can help before I get a hammer...just kidding....no really. I have a hammer. :D

use the hammer, use the hammer! (It'll make you feel a whole lot better)

Before you break out the hammer and start banging. Break out the Haynes or Chiltons manual, it has everything you could do to your Jeep and then some.

Once you disconnect the lock cylinder rod from the back of the exterior handle, there is a U shaped clip around the lock cylinder. Pull that clip and the lock cylinder will come out. Then, when you look inside the door, you should be able to see the spring steel clips that hold the exterior handle into the door itself. Pull those and the handle should fall out.

I'll send you the Haynes instructions when I get home tonight if someone hasn't hooked you up already

I say go with the hammer too...if it makes you feel better, think of it as a pendulum wrench! :)
