View Full Version : FLat fenders
OK i was looking at a few brands and trying to find out if anyone has sugestions for flat fenders.
Poisen spyder and Gen right have a set but they come in bare metal for $500 and change the other set i was looking at had removable flares and i think are the same brand as Matt and his (Baddass) JK they come to around 6 and change with a black powder coat anyone have ideas?:flag:
Metal Cloak fenders are the only viable option IMHO, and are likely the ones that you are referring to with the removable flares.
Metal Cloaks also, I think from listening to my wife drone on about them, replace the inner fenders to provide more room for articulation as well. Something about running 35's or 37's with stock suspension on them.
Yeah, they (Metal Cloak) have a JK running 37s and no lift.
I think for flatties, it'll depend on what you'll be wanting them for. Smittybilt has some nice ones that are fairly inexpensive but are plastic and could get trashed dependin gon your wheeling. metal fenders obviously will stand up to more abuse.

Got mine from C&C Fabrication off ebay. They were bare metal, and I had to do a little fab work to attach inner fenders, but I bought them around the end of the year (holiday time), and only paid $150.00 with free shipping. Very happy with them.

no way he wants plastic fenders...... not an option
I'm going to go with metalcloak when I do mine. Modern classic enterprise has a plastic set up that looks good but no flare for it last time I checked

T&T is what I'm gonna use. They are also bare metal, but most stuff is, unless they have the option to powdercoat. My bumper, sliders, and cage all came bare. I really like the look of painting the fenders body color and if you opt for flares, black.
I really don't like metalcloak at all. I think the way they rise up over the hood looks ridiculous. Gen Right makes nice stuff but you'll pay for it.
Edit - I had only seen Metalcloaks arched fenders, which look silly. But I looked at the overline ones and they're not bad. I'd think about getting them there price tag wasn't so friggin high.

I've been looking for a set too. I looked into the Smittybilt ones, but I've heard shitty reviews about Smittybilt's durability. I like the ones from Metalcloak, but damn they're expensive. I haven't decided which direction I'm going to go yet.

I am definitly getting something solid metal this time so i can play a lil harder then i have been
btw todays Johns b-day give him a call he needs it
My line of thinking on the MetalCloaks... $700 give or take and able to run 37's. Or purchase $1,500-$2,200 worth of suspension to run 37's....
which amount do I want my wife spending on her "daily driver"?
I dig the T&T ones personally.

I really like the MetalCloak ones. I didn't like the arched ones at first, but then I saw a slick white TJ with them out at GetUgly and man, thost things look BADASS!! Like someone said, they come with inner fenders and a relocated battery tray because they REALLY open up the wheel well. Something like 4" clearance behind the tire (not sure WHY tho) and 5-6" higher. They leave almost TOO much room above the tires when used with a lift. If any of ya'll want to see them, GetUgly Customs has that white TJ parked out front (I think the owner is deployed right now). It's running MC arched fronts, rear fenders, corners and sliders. It looks B A D!! MC stuff is pretty damn pricey though.....
George, thanks for the thoughts. I'm doin OK though. TOMORROW NIGHT IS DRUNK NIGHT!!!!!!! LOL

I know the guys over at C&C, they do great work, very high quality. I have installed theirs, PS and GenRight. All are of excellent quality and I would use any on a customers Jeep. I cannot speak for others.

They were talking about a JK, George has a TJ. And they're closer to $900. And 37's on stock axles, brakes, and steering isn't a good choice on a DD.
MetalCloak is priced a little higher, but in some cases you can offset the cost of lifting (at least somewhat) by running their setup. JK's can run 37's with no lift and TJ's can run 35's with no lift. Compared to spending between $2-3k for lifts for either one in order to get those tire sizes under the rigs with stock, or some of the other flare kits. Makes it a little bit easier to swallow? :)
I'm heading to MetalCloak next week for a visit, anyone have any questions or anything they want asked or anything? I am planning on putting the flares on my JK, and we should have a TJ with their front bumper as well.
PSC fenders are nice and strong as well, not as expensive as MC, but not cheap either. One of the local JK guys laid his Jeep on the PSC fenders out at Moab and just needed to rattle can them to clean it up.
We also do Genright, good solid product and look good too.
All three companies are great to deal with and stand behind their products (an in MetalCloaks case, stand ON their products!).

Does Tank get a deal on parts? If I wanted to buy fenders/bumpers/etc... would it be to my advantage to go through them?

good question... I'd like to know that too.
Best answer is the more orders he gets the better the deal but call him and see what he can do for you 9108757207
