At 2:07pm on Thursday January 27, 2011 my wife Holly gave birth to our daughter Mia. Holly was only 6 months along to the day. Our daughter was born 13 3/4" and only 1lb 12oz. The scariest day of my life was on that day, the day I had the doctor tell me I could possibly lose them both to preeclampsia. My wife developed this in days and it almost took her and the baby from this world. I believe in the power of prayer and I'm reaching out to my fellow service members, Americans, Veterans and Jeepers to please pray for my family.
Will do. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Will do. God bless you and your family.

Status update. After my wife (she is a MA2, for you Navy type) was on her deathbed she made a quick recovery. She was checked out of the hospital today and is resting at home. As of today the baby had a brain scan this morning that did not show any bleeding or any problems. She does have a heart murmur, but it's going to be treated with medication. My daughter is still on a ventilator and receiving nutrients via an IV. She is expected to start feeding breast milk this week and hopefully fatten up shortly after. It's going to be a long road of recovery and will be followed with a lifetime of checkups.
My family can't thank you guys/gals enough for your thoughts and prayers. We STRONGLY believe in the power of prayer and believe it is helping to keep her stable.
again thank you
Prayers out bro. Keep us updated. If you or your wife need anything, shoot me a message

Mia (my daughter) had a heart treatment to help repair her murmur. She has received the first of three doses and will be receiving the second today. Her heart has responded very well to the treatment and the doctors and nurses had nothing but positive things to say about it. She has maintained her weight (1lb 10oz) and is on the road to growth and recovery. She will more than likely be in the NICU until her due date which was May 1st.
My wife has made a turn for the better. She is at home recovering and doing well. Her swelling has gone done and her blood pressure is almost normal with the meds they've given her. She thanks you for your prayers.
I can't thank you guys enough for your support and prayers. I will continue to give updates as much as possible.
Thank you all

Update: Mia is off the ventilator and breathing on her own now. She is tolerating feeds and has gone up to 12cc's every three hours of breast milk (via a feeding tube, she's too small for a bottle). She goes up and down with her weight, but she is right around 2lbs now. My wife is doing amazing and she is very mobile now...too mobile. She forgets she had an emergency surgery three weeks ago and almost died. She is just a little sore, but is recovering beautifully.
thanks everyone for the prayers. the journey continues to get better, but we have a long road ahead of us.

this is what the power of prayer has done. this is a pic of her off the ventilator and off the lights. she's slowly growing and looking better. she's still under 14" and right at 2lbs, but making huge progress. thank you Lord and thank you everyone for your prayers!
