OK, I'm looking to figure out a way to get an e-brake working in my Play Jeep. It's currently running a D44 from a 1974 CJ in the rear. I ran across this on CL:

So, my questions is.....how do these work? I know I've seen the disks under other rigs, just never paid any attention to how they were set up.....
John those will work as an e brake only but it is going to lower your clearence of the front of the Pumpkin and cause a possible hang point. 2nd you will need a new drive shaft to accomidate the shorter leangth. it is also going to need Hydro lines ran to it which inturn is going to be a Nightmare to figure out all the Ins and outs. you would almost be better off running a brake line into the jeep and putting a 1/4 turn shut off valve inside the truck. that way you mash the Brakes turn the Valve and Bam you have Park Brakes. there are some down falls to that but in the long run it will work better for you. and cheaper

Thanks George. I figure I'll keep it simple and take your advice, since you're gonna be the one giving me a hand doing it anyway!

I'd like to do something similar, but off the T-case output instead of the axle.
Even if you dropped a driveshaft, you'd still have a parking brake (while in 4WD)
