View Full Version : anyone looking for a built up XJ?
I would like to build up my HEEP into something along these lines.... someday. I would end up paying a lot less money if I just picked this one up and used my rig for parts. While that makes the most sense you can't explain that to a woman. The $$'s don't matter as much as seeing another hunk of shit in the driveway/garage. SO, I will just continue to build mine up slowly piece by piece.
If you know anyone looking for one though... pass this on.

That thing is awesome!
and he has the price down to $4k right now. It would cost me that just to get those axles built up and under the HEEP, and the full cage done. :(
I was trying to get him to just sell me the axles and he started to crack, but I don't really have the cash for them right now anyway.
what were you offering for the axles?

Must.......resist.........too.....many.....vehicles......in driveway...........
a live chicken and a pack of gum
If you would have offered a Bucket of KFC and a pack of Hubba Bubba he may have jumped......

maybe :D
I actually didn't make an offer. I was just checking with him to see if he would sell them to me and was then going to haggle on price a bit. I got diciked on my GI Bill check this month though, so I have ZERO cash to put towards the HEEP :(
I wouldn't mind the axles and parts of the cage for mine, but like you said by the time I do that I may as well piece them both together into one heckofa Rig
I think for now I'm just going to stick with the stock axles while I beef it up with some skid plates, sliders, and rear bumper/tire carrier. Then I'll look into the cage, suspension seats with harnesses, and after all of that is done I'll look to upgrade the suspension, steering, and axles, so that I can run 35-37's. That should take me the next 10 years to complete :D

That's a boatload of work into something without a frame!! Hell, it's not even an XJ anymore, might as well buy some tube and a bender, and start from scratch!
looks like an XJ to me .... just a pretty badass one :D
I'd wheel it IF it were DDriveable. I am re working mine so I can drive it whenever I want.
looks like it would be a fine DD to me
does to me too except for the no windshield fact, or did you mean mine? Mine just needs some TLC
No, I meant the no windshield one. I forgot about that.... I can't see the pics of it here at work and haven't actually looked at it for a few weeks.

Yeah....OK.
No windshield,
No Mirrors
No (legal) headlights
No turnsignals
No tire coverage
Etc.
You're not going to DD that thing anywhere in the US.
Killer rig, and I'm sure a blast to wheel, but that bitch is a Trailer Queen! LOL
don't need wheel coverage in NC, headlights are over rated, and I've been rolling without mirrors for about a year.
ok, ok.... MAYBE put some headlights and signals in it. That's too easy. a few $$'s and an hour or two of work and you're ready to roll.
*edit* shoot.... if any of you buy it I'll donate the headlights, turn signals, and mirrors if you need them.
