Dave (Ramphog (http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/member.php?39-Ramphog)) lived in in Northern VA. He had served in the AF (Retired USAF SF) and a few of us here have wheeled with him a time or two. He passed away yesterday after being sick for about a year.

Someone said he found out he was sick shortly after a friend of his (name on MJ: Loosedog (http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/showthread.php?15531)) passed away.

Updated 25 Feb, 2011: Lt. Dan updated this thread by letting us he passed away after a year long battle with cancer

A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held this Sunday (February 27) at The Apple House in Linden, VA. The Celebration will last from 1 to 4pm. Jeepers traveling from points East will gather in the Kohl's parking lot in Manassas (off Rt 234 near NVCC) and will caraJEEP to The Apple House. In true Dave fashion, the CaraJEEP will leave promptly at noon, if you are not there you will be left behind.

Lt. Dan Thanks for the update, I really appreciate it. His passing is yet another reminder to make the best of the time you have, because before long you may find it to be too late.

I had the honor of serving with Dave in California, and, when we both deployed overseas in 2004. It was because of Dave, and the fun I saw him having with his new Jeep, that pushed me into buying my first jeep since 1998. David loved his family, country, and was an outstanding NCO. He will be sorely missed.
