Man, That'd be a blast. Now if Only I could convince my wife to hurry up and let me get that lift kit/bigger tires/recovery gear. Right now my jeep is not very offroad efficient, being the old exterior stock XJ it is. Haven't put much rush on it, being stuck here in northwest ohio and all. But I am about 3 hours from mt. clemens. How's the wheeling around there?

I don't live to far from the Mounds. Their are some trails for stock but also some deep holes there. Don't forget you need a current Mich. ORV sticker to get in.

you can get the orv sticker at bass pro shop or cabelas
My daughter lives in Southgate. Next time I'm headed up there I'll try and post something. I have heard of the Mounds on other forums. I would love to wheel up there someday.

Orv stickers are $16.25 for a year. They expire the end of March and can be bought at most sporting goods stores. The party store west of the Mounds have them for sale. The restrictions are mostly for noise.

Hey ppl. sorry for not responding. I'm outta the country for work. I'll be home on Aug 22nd. All of us need to meet to head to the mounds. I'll bring my buddy from this way. He works at a lazer cutting shop and makes some pretty kick a** custom shackles for cheap. Let me know when everyone is free. I know wolverine 4wheelers club is having a one day outting there on the 20th of sept.

Hey, I just had a brainstorm. We should head up there and invite the staff from Jp magazine out to wheel with us. It would be a great story for an issue!

So we're looking at late august then? That's cool. The longer I know in advance the better, Being a recruiter I need to know so I can plan my schedule around it and get the time off. And the JP magazine sounds cool, be nice to meet some of them guys, So long as they dont laugh at me too hard when I get stuck and struggle :D By the way, is their camping there? Been looking for a reason to through the tent and cooler in the jeep and get lost for a weekend (dont know how happy comnavwife would be but oh well she'll get over it)

No camping there. There is a county campground about ten miles from there. If you want to see what the area looks like and the vehicles that go there regularly go to wegotmud.com. This group is out there every Sunday.

yeah. I wanted to go. But somehow i got roped into 'canoing' with the the aunts and uncles down near columbus. I wouldn't even really call it canoing it was more floating, and my fat ass causing the thing to run aground. Very frustrating. Did you go? how was it?
