Over the last 2 years that I have been in central PA, I have had a number of people tell me about the Bloomsburg, PA 4 Wheel Drive Jamboree. I wasn't going to go since PA Jeeps is this coming weekend and I didn't want to spend 3 days at this event (even though it was only an hour from the house) and then 3 days in York, PA next weekend.

After being called and text by friends, I finally caved and decided Thursday night that I would go over on Saturday for the Show 'n Shine.

Let me first say that the show is incredible! It is put on by Toyo Tires and is part of the 4 Wheel Jamboree show circuit. There were some crazy trucks there. I saw a '77 F150 with an '02 Cumming diesel driveline. I saw a Durango in 2.5 tons and 53" Michelins. Had my camera not crapped out, I would have some killer pics to post. There were a bunch of the USHRA monster trucks there. My daughter loved Monster Mutt and Gravedigger. I even got Jim Koehler, the driver of Avenger, to sign the hood of my Jeep.

Well, I parked my Jeep and was pretty much swamped all day with people asking questions and wanting business cards. I heard an annoucement opening up the judging. I figured, what the hell, and drive my Jeep over to the judging area. I sat in the judging line for over an hour and watched the judges spend upwards of 20 mins per rig. They were checking 6 areas for modifications: body, suspension, engine, interior, chassis, and paint.
The judges spent about 10 mins on my rig, told me I was in the Modified class, and sent me on my way. I didn't think anything of it and laughed about driving through the judging.

As it turns out, MUCH to my surprise, I won 1st place for Best Engineered in the Modified Class. When the announcer called my name I started laughing.

Good job... Bloomsburg, can get pretty wild in the fair grounds... I always seem to miss it but often hear about it from friends in the area...

Got a plaque and an embroidered jacket that has "4 Wheel Jamboree 2008 Winners Circle" on the back.

The biggest win for me was giving out business cards and being swamped with questions all day. Hopefully, getting our shop name out there and having that many people show interest will pay off.
